Wheatland, MO (August 7th, 2013) - A staple of the Lucas Oil MLRA schedule, the King of the Hill Late Model Shootout, fires off this weekend from the beautiful Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE.  While not new on the schedule, it will be a new track for the top two in the series standings. Friday and Saturday's races will be scratched off the first time list for both Tony Jackson Jr. and Will Vaught.  Jackson comes into the race on the best streak of his career. His eight wins place him 18th in DirtOnDirt.com's weekly rankings. He is also the most recent winner on the tour with a victory at LA Raceway in La Monte, Missouri, two weeks ago.

Vaught is optimistic about his chances this weekend and in the points chase overall. "We haven't been bad lately, we just haven't had anything go our way," commented the twenty-six year old standout. "We had engine trouble the last time out, right at the beginning of the feature. It was just a parts failure and nothing we could foresee. That's just the way racing goes sometimes. We had a real good car, but didn't get to show it."

While not having a notebook for the track specifically, Vaught did watch a classic battle between Kelly Boen and Kyle Berck on video last week. The Lucas Oil MLRA race was from back in 2011. "I heard the place was big. There aren't a ton of tracks in the region I haven't been to yet, but this one will be the third on the schedule for us this season. I like not having to travel from Friday to Saturday too. It should also put us closer to a level playing field Saturday, after racing there Friday."

Should either driver have trouble this weekend, three time champion John Anderson is lurking just a few markers back in third place. Terry Phillips and Brad Looney round out the top five and are expected this weekend too. With just five races left in the pursuit of the 2013 championship, this stop at Junction Motor Speedway is of utmost importance to the final outcome of the season.

A special treat for the fans on Saturday is the driver meet and greet behind the main grandstand. All fans are welcome out early to see their favorite drivers and cars on display prior to the show that evening. Several of the drivers will have autograph cards available and t-shirts for sale. The main grandstand opens at 5:00 PM Saturday.

The Lucas Oil MLRA would like to thank both Strobel Manufacturing and George Brothers Inc. for sponsoring this weekend of racing.
