SCHATZ IS TRIPLE THREAT IN DIRTcar NATIONALS
North Dakota Native Wins 3 of 5 at Volusia Speedway Park

McKENZIE, Tenn. (Feb. 23, 2017) – J&J Auto Racing’s Donny Schatz continued to put on a clinic as the 2017 DIRTcar Nationals wrapped up last week, with the North Dakota native picking up another three victories behind the wheel of the No. 15 Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian (TSR) Racing entry at Volusia Speedway Park (VSP) in Barberville, Fla. Schatz grabbed victories against both the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC) Series and the World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman Sprint Car Series, winning on Feb. 15 against the ASCoC and twice on Feb. 19 against the WoO to post an impressive 5-for-8 tally on the first two weeks of the 2017 season.

J&J Auto Racing also enjoyed a solid second place run by Kyle Larson who strapped into the No. 14 TSR entry on Wed., Feb. 15, for a rare winged sprint car appearance at VSP. Christopher Bell took the wheel of the No. 14 for the rest of the week, posting a Quick Time award in the WoO opener on Feb. 17 en route to a third place finish. Bell also posted two top-10 finishes on Feb. 16 and in the WoO make-up feature event on Feb. 19. Joey Saldana earned a fourth place finish for J&J Auto Racing in his No. 17S Stenhouse Jr.-Wood Racing entry on Feb. 19 in the WoO make-up event which was postponed on Feb. 18 due to rain.

Schatz currently leads both the ASCoC and WoO Series point standings, hosting a 46-point lead over the ASCoC field and 14-point over the WoO Series. He has won three of five ASCoC contests to-date and two of three WoO features as the series heads toward Texas and Las Vegas in the coming weeks.
