Isom, KY (June 17, 2016)- The CT Promotions Iron-Man Mountain Championship Series would run the second leg of the eight-race mini-tour on Saturday Night June 18th at 201 Speedway in Sitka, Ky. Greg Johnson of Bedford, Ind. Would be victorious in the main event leading all 30 laps for the $3,000 payday. Johnson drove the JP Motorsports, Picker’s Paradise and Jay Construction-sponsored Pro-Power Race Engines-powered Club 29 Race Car to the win and became the second different winner in two events on the tour.

Jackie Boggs Dominates Kentucky Mist Moonshine 30 Iron-Man Mountain Championship Opener at Mountain Motor Speedway

By Michael Despain, CT Promotions

Isom, KY (June 17, 2016)- The CT Promotions Iron-Man Mountain Championship Series would open its 2016 campaign on Friday evening at Mountain Motor Speedway in Isom, KY with the Kentucky Mist Moonshine 30 and Jackie Boggs of Grayson, KY would lead all 30 laps en route to a $3,000 victory aboard his Central Star Drilling/McCoy Brothers Logging/Quest Energy sponsored #4B Swartz Race Car.

The start of the event was touch-and-go to say the least as five caution flags waved before the first official lap could be scored due to multi-car incidents, with James Butcher, Jarrod Butcher, and Stephen Breeding being eliminated by way of these mishaps.  Once action got going, Jackie Boggs would roll to the lead from his outside front-row starting position and would open begin to motor away from the field, as Brandon Fouts and Greg Johnson would duel for second, with Johnson claiming the spot on lap 6.  Boggs would open up a sizable lead before a caution on lap 15 for a spin by Australian native Kye Blight, who looped his machine in turn 1.  The restart would only see two more circuits completed until third place running Fouts would see his mount slow on the frontchute and proceed to be pushed pitside, finished for the night.

The restart would see Boggs receive from pressure from Johnson, but by lap 21, the second-generation driver would again begin pulling away.  The final slowing of the event came with a caution on lap 26 when fifth place contender Michael Wright would slow in turn three.  The final handful of laps would see Boggs again scoot away from the field and see the checkered flag first.  Johnson would settle for second, with Shannon Thornsberry claiming the final podium position in third.  Steve Stollings and Jarrod Breeding would complete the top five.

The remainder of the top ten would be Justin King, Blight, Wright, Tommy Bailey, and Fouts.  The 30 lap, $3,000 to win event would be slowed by eight caution flags.

The series will be in action on Saturday June 18 at 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY on Saturday June 18 for the $3,000 to win Walter "Peg" Combs Memorial contest.
