For Immediate Release Marshall Skinner Takes Control of COMP Cams Interstate Cup Standings Memphis, Tennessee (06/30/14) – With a very wet month of June drawing to a close Marshall Skinner now sits atop the COMP Cams Interstate Cup Sprint Car Series presented by Dixon Road U-Pull-It standings. After seeing much of May and June plagued by rain in the area the series finally was able to host another point event on June 21st at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas), where Benton, Arkansas driver, Justin Sturch stormed to his first win of the year over Marshall Skinner, Cody Gardner, Rick Pringle, and A.G. Rains. Marshall Skinner now sits atop the standings with Rains, Gardner, Derek Hagar, Jordon Mallett, Sturch, Nic Jenkins, Jan Howard, Robert Richardson, and Johnny Gardner rounding out the top ten in the latest standings..
Due to various special events the next points event for the series will be held on Saturday, July 26th at Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas). For more information on the event please visit www.RiversideInternationalSpeedway.com . The COMP Cams Interstate Cup presented by Dixon Road U-Pull-It was created in 2011 to reward drivers for competing at both tracks. A.G. Rains from West Memphis, Arkansas has claimed the title in each of the first three years. For 2014 the tracks have once again coincided their schedules to not run Winged 360 c.i. Sprint Cars on the same night to further their cooperation. Each weekly racing series point’s event at each track will count toward a driver's point total in the program. Any special event does not count as a point's event for the series. For 2014 drivers have no restrictions on how many races that they can miss at each facility to still be eligible for the season-ending point's money. Points acquired in all races will count toward the final total. The final payout for the series will pay ten places, and the minimum payout for the final COMP Cams Interstate Cup will be the following: 1)$2,000 2)$1,500 3)$1,000 4)$800 5)$700 6)$600 7)$500 8)$450 9)$350 10)$300 and as more sponsors are secured the payout may be increased. COMP Cams has also posted the following contingency prizes for the top five: The miniseries is proud to welcome Speed Mart Inc. to the list of contingency sponsors for 2014. The Burlington, Washington company is dedicated to providing open wheel racing products that combine quality, performance and value. Speed Mart Inc. will provide a $50 Hard Charger Certificate at each event in 2014 to the driver, who advances the most positions from their starting spot in the feature. For more information on Speed Mart Inc. please visit http://www.SpeedMartInc.com . In addition to money and contingencies, the program will reward provisionals. The driver, highest in the final top ten standings in the point's program, who doesn't qualify for the 6th Annual Ralph Henson Memorial on Saturday, September 27th at I-30 Speedway will get a provisional starting spot in the main event. Similarly the driver highest in the top ten in the final points (who didn't use a provisional at the Ralph Henson Memorial), who doesn't qualify for the Fall Nationals at Riverside International Speedway on Saturday, October 11th will get a provisional starting spot for the main event. Race fans can also donate money to the point's fund if they so choose. For a $100 donation, a race fan can be the title sponsor on a Sprint Car Weekly Racing Series Event at either track, and 100% of that money will go into the point's fund.
