Jason Hughes Takes Final Win of 2015 with Southern Oklahoma Checkers

Westville, Oklahoma (11/12/15) – Jason Hughes put the wraps on a stellar 2015 season by piloting his West Siloam Pawn #12 Hughes/Mullins Racing Engine Modified to the $3,000 victory at Southern Oklahoma Speedway.

Returning to action with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Jason Hughes headed to Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore, Oklahoma) on Tuesday night for the $3,000-to-win affair. In a field of thirty-six Open Wheel Modifieds, Jason improved six spots in his heat, scoring a runner-up finish to Lance Town. Via his heat race performance Hughes moved onto the redraw for the finale, where he was the recipient of a front row starting spot. By the fourth lap of the feature Hughes had worked his way to the lead. Holding off a charging Rodney Sanders, Jason Hughes captured his fifteenth win of the season with Sanders, Mickey Lassiter, Tyler Wolff, and Chad Howell completing the top five in the 30-lap affair.
Hughes was slated to compete in an USMTS tripleheader at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) on Thursday through Saturday, but Mother Nature forced all three rounds to be nixed.

Shane Clanton Crowned WoOLMS Champion

Zebulon, Georgia (11/12/15) –Shane Clanton put a wrap on his first-career, World of Outlaws Late Model Series (WoOLMS) championship over the weekend behind the wheel of his Weldbank Energy #25 Capital/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Shane Clanton made the trek to the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina) over the weekend to compete in the finals event of the 2015 campaign with the World of Outlaw Late Model Series (WoOLMS). Drawing eighty-six entries for the three-day Bad Boy Buggies World Finals, Clanton recorded the 6th fastest qualifying time in his group giving him a front row starting spot for his heat on Friday night. Battling in a stout field a drivers, Shane pulled off the 10-lap victory in his heat race, earning him a 3rd place starting spot for the feature event. With $12,000 on the line, Shane Clanton scored a runner-up spot to Brandon Sheppard with Chris Madden, Darrell Lanigan, and Josh Richards trailing them across the finish line. By entering Friday’s program, Shane officially clinched his first WoOLMS championship.

After the rain postponed all of Saturday’s events to Sunday, Clanton gained one spot in his heat capturing another 10-lap victory. Starting on the 2nd row for the $12,000-to-win A-Main, Shane fell back to a 9th place outing in the 50-lap affair.

“There are no words to describe how much it means to me to finally win this title,” said Clanton. “2014 was the toughest year of my career, and now 2015 has been the greatest year of my career.
