Jan Howard Picks Up First Win of 2008

Byhalia, Mississippi (4/22/08 ) Jan Howard from Byhalia, Mississippi kicked off his 2008 season on Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas on a night that was full of ups and downs.

Jan had a rough night behind the wheel of his #4x Lofton Motorsports 360 Sprinter. He finished 5th in his heat race and was charging through the pack in the feature when his front axle broke sending him into the back stretch wall. He was uninjured, but done for the night.

In the 305 Wingless Sprint Car division, Howard would have much better luck behind the wheel of his #46 Howard Motorsports Maxim. He finished 2nd in his heat race, which earned him a 3rd starting position for the feature. He took the lead at the drop of the green flag, and never looked back en route to the feature win.

This weekend Jan will head back to Riverside International Speedway with both his 305 Wingless Sprint Car and his 360 Winged Sprint Car in search of his second win of the young season.

Jan would like to thank all of his sponsors for 2008 including Brim's Snack Foods, Carpenter Steel Erectors, K&N Filters, Mason Water Wells, Trumann Paramedics, Interior Trim Works by Jay Henderson, Carpenter Homes, Skull Covers By Gator, Lofton Motorsports, Ray's Auto Collision, Truck Parts Specialists, A.T.R.O.M. Todd Hall Picks Up Top Ten Finish in FasTrak Action at Malden

Charleston, MO (4/22/08) – Todd Hall returned to familiar territory this weekend as he was behind the wheel of his #99 Mastersbilt Crate Late Model at Malden Speedway for their $5,000 to win FasTrak Late Model Series sanctioned event.

Rain on Friday forced the event to be moved to a Saturday night and Sunday afternoon event.  Todd had a previous family commitment for Saturday, so he was unable to race.  However, via his 5th place finish in the FasTrak event at West Plains Motor Speedway the previous week, he was guaranteed a provisional starting spot in the Sunday afternoon main event.  Hall started 22nd in the main event and charged his way to a 7th place finish despite a track that was restrictive to passing.

“Our car was really awesome, and we were lucky to pass as many cars as we did because the track was pretty much one lane.  Either way it’s good to pick up another solid finish, and our team will build from it,” commented Hall.

This Friday, Hall Motorsports will travel to Paducah International Raceway for their annual Nascar night.  Super Late Models will be battling for $1,500 to win around the high, banked clay oval. For more information, please visit www.PaducahInternationalRaceway.com .

Todd Hall Motorsports would like to thank all of their marketing partners including FTS Logistics, Financial Transportation Services LLC, First Security State Bank, Greg Hall Motorsports, New Vision Graphics, and MSRMafia.com .

Vicksburg, MS (4/22/08) – Bub McCool and McCool Motorsports were in action on Saturday night at Rodney Wing’s Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi for a $2,500 to win event.

Bub piloted his trusty #57j Trakstar/Barker Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle in the event.  Bub set third quick time in his group, which earned him a 5th starting position in the pole dash.  He would finish sixth in the dash, which is where he would start in the 50 lap feature event.  At the drop of the green flag, McCool began his march to the front, and on lap 15 he would take over the top spot and never look back en route to the feature win.  The victory marked his third of the 2008 season.
