Sides Scores Top-10 Finish at Silver Dollar Speedway during Mini Gold Cup

Inside Line Promotions - CHICO, Calif. (April 6, 2016) - Jason Sides capped last weekend by capturing his fourth top 10 of the season with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

Sides rallied from 15th to a ninth-place result on Saturday at Silver Dollar Speedway during the Mini Gold Cup.

"It was a good end to the night and the weekend," he said. "We hung in there and tried to keep our nose out of trouble. The little bullrings aren't our favorite types of tracks."

Sides opened the event by qualifying 15th quickest. He then finished where he started - fifth - in a heat race to lock himself into the main event at the quarter-mile oval.

"We actually drove our way up to about sixth on a late restart, but a couple of cars got together," he said. "We got out of there with a top 10 so we're happy with that."

The weekend began on Friday at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Calif., for the Ocean Outlaw Showdown presented by Budweiser. Sides timed in 16th quickest in qualifying before he placed eighth in a heat race, which relegated him to the Last Chance Showdown.

"The track was so wet and fast," he said. "If you had a fast car in qualifying it set you up and if you didn't you were behind. In the Last Chance Showdown we were pretty good with a clear track in front of us, but then when we got in the back of the main event it was hard to pass."

Sides won the consolation race to transfer into the 19th starting position for the feature. He battled for a top 15 throughout most of the main event before placing 16th.

"We are very happy to get on a bigger track at Calistoga this weekend," he said. "That place suits our style a lot better."

Sides is set to compete this Saturday and Sunday at Calistoga Speedway in Calistoga, Calif., for the Wine Country Outlaw Showdown with the World of Outlaws.

Sides was victorious at the half-mile oval in 2011 and he finished on the podium during both World of Outlaws races there last year.

White Rides Roller Coaster throughout Trying Turnpike Challenge

Inside Line Promotions - TULSA, Okla. (April 6, 2016) - Harli White endured a roller coaster weekend during the 3rd annual Turnpike Challenge with the Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget Series.

"It was up and down all weekend," she said. "We were fast, yet we couldn't catch a break. It's disappointing to have such a bad night on Friday and then have a decent night going on Saturday and not be able to put together a 40-lap race."

The action began at Port City Raceway last Friday with White advancing from sixth to fourth place in a heat race. That lined her up on the outside of the front row for a B Main.

"We were running second with about three laps to go when I got ran over from behind so I didn't make the A Main that night," she said. "They ran over the left side of the car and it spun me out so we were forced to restart at the back with only a couple of laps remaining."

White ended with a 13th-place result in the consolation race.

"We were ok on Friday, but were fighting the car," she said. "We went back to our normal setup on Saturday and we could tell right off the bat it was way better."

White maneuvered from sixth to a third-place finish in a heat race. That locked her into the 11th starting position for the main event.

"At the start I was following everyone on the bottom and we were passing cars," she said. "There was a caution about 10 laps in and I decided I better try the top. Going into the first corner my car was too tight. I jumped the cushion and spun out. After that it seemed like I kept getting tangled with everybody on the track."

White was caught up in multiple cautions, including one that broke the front end on her race car. She was credited with a 23rd-place result.

"I'm not sure what we're going to do this weekend," she said. "We've had three straight weeks of tearing stuff up so hopefully we're getting all of our bad luck out of the way early this season."
