Ronny Lee Hollingsworth Wins Three Times; Claims Speedweek Title

Northport, Alabama (02/05/13) – A racing trip that wasn't even planned until the last minute resulted in Ronny Lee Hollingsworth claiming three wins in five events, and the RockAuto.com Speedweek Championship at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) with the NeSmith National Late Model Series.

"Our deal came together at the last minute to take our #18 Sparks Motorsports/Barry Wright Race Car to Bubba Raceway Park for the NeSmith Speedweek," notes Hollingsworth. "We had never seen the place before and to come out of there with three wins and a Speedweek title was unbelievable. We are really excited about heading to East Bay next week for the Lucas Oil Late Model Series races there!"

Below is a blog-style recap of the week's festivities at Bubba Raceway Park:

January 29th, 2013 - Ronny Lee opened his 2013 season with a bang on Tuesday evening by scoring the $2,000 victory in the opener for the NeSmith Late Model Series at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida)! A stellar field of 67 entries entered the event, and Hollingsworth began his evening by qualifying third fastest in his group to lock into the third starting spot for the first heat race. He quickly found his way into the lead in the heat and went on to claim the heat win to earn the pole starting spot for the 40 lap feature with Jonathan Davenport joining him on the front row. Hollingsworth snagged the lead at the drop of the green flag and went on to lead all 40 laps on his way to his first win of the 2013 season in his #18 Sparks Motorsports/Barry Wright entry! He was followed across the finish line by Kyle Bronson, Jonathon Davenport, Justin McRee, and Jeff Mathews.

January 30th, 2013 - Call it two-for-two as Ronny Lee Hollingsworth claimed his second win in as many nights in the RockAuto.com Speedweek at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) for the NeSmith National Late Model Series. The $2,000-to-win event drew another stacked field of 66 Super Late Models to the 1/3 mile oval, and Hollingsworth began his night by blazing to fast time honors in his group and overall as the only second in the fourteen second bracket. Via his qualifying effort he earned the pole position for the third heat and raced to the win to lock into the redraw for the feature, where he was the recipient of the third starting spot for the 40 lap feature. As the feature race went green Ronny Lee battled in the top five before mounting a charge to the front, which saw him pass Walker Arthur for the second spot on lap 11. One lap later the leader, Brad Smith, would spin from contention as Hollingsworth inherited the lead. Once out from he cruised to the win, which came by over two second on the field. He was followed across the line by Arthur, Justin McCree, Shan Smith, and Chase Washington.

January 31st, 2013 - Ronny Lee was going for his third win in as many nights on Thursday evening at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) with the NeSmith Late Model Series, but unfortunately his bid at the feat would come up short after contact late in the feature wounded his entry. Sixty-two Super Late Models were on hand for the $2,000-to-win event, and he started the night by once again setting fast time honors in not only his group but also overall. He went on to win his heat race from the pole and drew the second starting spot alongside pole-sitter, Kyle Bronson. As the 40 lap feature went green Bronson snagged the lead with Hollingsworth in pursuit. Ronny Lee would stalk the leader through traffic before taking over the top spot on lap 15. Hollingsworth led until a lap 29 restart, when contact with Justin McRee brought his night to a disappointing early end in the twenty-fifth position.

February 1st, 2013 - The team looked to bounce back from the heartache from Thursday night's event on Friday evening, and they would find just the redemption that they were seeking as Ronny Lee scored another $2,000 win at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) during the RockAuto.com Speedweek. Fifty-seven entries took to the speedway for the event, and in time trials Hollingsworth recorded the fastest time in his group to earn the pole position for the fourth heat race. He went on to win the fourth heat, which locked him into the redraw for the feature, where he was the recipient of the fifth starting spot for the 40 lap finale. As the race went green Ronny Lee began working his way forward, and on lap six he rocketed from the third position to the lead, and once out front never looked back on his way to the victory, which was his third of the season. He was followed across the stripe by Jonathan Davenport, Ronnie Johnson, Tait Davenport, and Ivedent Lloyd Jr.

February 2nd, 2013 - The five race stand at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) concluded on Saturday evening with a $3,000-to-win race at the facility, which was sanctioned by the NeSmith Late Model Series. After starting his night by setting fast time around the oval, Ronny Lee won his heat race and drew the one pill to earn the pole starting spot for the 50 lap finale. He was joined on the front row by Justin McRee, and as the race went green it was McRee, who grabbed the lead. Hollingsworth ran second during the early stages of the event before ultimately slipping to a fourth place finish at the checkered flag behind race winner, Ronnie Johnson, McRee, and Walker Arthur.

Despite not winning the race Hollingsworth was honored afterwards for winning the RockAuto.com Speedweek title. He received a $2,000 check as well as multiple product certificates for his efforts. Full results from the event are available at www.NeSmithRacing.com.

Ronny Lee now turns his attention to his first-ever laps at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) during the annual Winternationals in February with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). With six big events held during the February 11th-16th window Hollingsworth hopes to add to his early season win tally. For more information on the events please visit www.LucasDirt.com .

Austin Hubbard Reloaded and Refocused for 2013 Campaign

Seaford, Delaware (02/05/13) After a 2012 season that was plagued by unbelievably bad luck and struggles Austin Hubbard and Hubbard Motorsports are focused on a successful 2013 season.

"From hauler problems to eight motor failures to just about everything imaginable going wrong, I'm just glad to put 2012 in my rearview mirror," the charismatic Hubbard comments. "Our plans for last year came together at the last minute, and I feel like we spent the whole season playing catch up. This year we are much more prepared, which gives us a lot of confidence and excitement as we prepare to head to Georgia and Florida later this week to get Speedweeks 2013 underway."

Austin started the 2012 season with the intent of competing for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) Rookie of the Year title, but an exuberant number of equipment failures and other woes forced the team to withdraw from the tour by mid-season. For 2013 Hubbard plans to make a full-time return to the LOLMDS tour.

Hubbard notes, "I don't like not following through with anything that I set out to do, but last year we had to head home to regroup. This year I'm really excited to take on the full Lucas Oil tour again. There are a lot of great competitors and staff with Lucas Oil, and we look forward to burning up the highways with them again. Hopefully we will be able to find success on a more frequent basis this season."

Changes have been taking part on a wholesale basis at Hubbard Motorsports over the off-season. New crew members and even a chassis change have taken part within the team. Austin will be piloting his familiar #11 entries with Cornett Racing Engines once again, but he has made the change to Mastersbilt Chassis by Huey. The chassis are manufactured by racing veteran Huey Wilcox. Changes within the team include veteran racer and fabricator, Andy Anderson, joining the team as crew chief with Chris Edwardson, who joined the team last year, back on board as well.

"Sometimes you have to reshuffle the deck to get to where you need to be, and we've made some pretty big changes with the team," says Hubbard. "We are really excited about making the move to Mastersbilt Chassis. Huey Wilcox is a legend in racing, and he's actually going to Georgia and Florida with us to get the new cars dialed in. The new chassis along with the knowledge that Andy (Anderson) brings to the team really represents an exciting new start for us in 2013."

Hubbard concludes by saying "I can only do this because of great supporters such as Trinity Transport, Salisbury Door and Hardware, Keyser Manufacturing, Sunoco Fuel, and Schaeffer Oil. The support from these great companies helps a lot, but I'm definitely looking to add more sponsors. It takes a lot of resources to follow a national tour like Lucas Oil, and we have several spots available on the car for sponsors, so hopefully we can line some more marketing partners out for this season."

Austin plans to enter nine events during Georgia/Florida Speedweeks including a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model events at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Georgia), six Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida), and a final Sunday night event at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida). For more information on the events, please visit www.WoOLMS.com and www.LucasDirt.com .

Austin Hubbard would like to thank their principal and associate sponsors including Trinity Transport, Salisbury Door and Hardware, Keyser Manufacturing, Mastersbilt by Huey, Cornett Racing Engines, Integra Shocks and Springs, Sunoco Race Fuels, Schaefer Oil, Team Peterson Fluid Systems, Ernie D's Enterprises, Three Wide Clothing, ASI Wear, Jones Racing Products, WearWide.com, and MSR Mafia Marketing Services.

Richards Returns to Rocket Chassis with Sponsor Valvoline for 2013

SHINNSTON, W. Va. (February 4, 2013) - With Valvoline on board as his new sponsor, Josh Richards is ready to chase the World of Outlaws Late Model Series championship in 2013, returning to the Rocket Chassis race team.

Richards, of Shinnston, West Virginia, is returning as a WoO LMS regular, but remains committed to pursuing a driving career in the NASCAR ranks. With no full-time ride currently in hand for 2013, he will keep himself very busy by following the renowned dirt Late Model circuit on which he grew from a talented teenage racer to a national star.

"I've been fortunate with the opportunities I've been given (in NASCAR), but it's just so hard to find that major sponsor and solid team that will allow you to race every weekend," said Richards. "We're not losing sight of that goal, but I love to race - racing is my life - so I'm going to go race where I can and right now that's on dirt."

The 2013 WoO LMS campaign, which consists a record-setting schedule of 54 events at 42 tracks across 21 states and two Canadian provinces, kicks off this weekend (February 8-9) with the "Winter Freeze" doubleheader at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia. The tour's season-opening Southeast swing also includes the Bubba Army Late Model Winter Nationals on February 15-17 at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida, and the UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment on February 21-23 at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida.

"I'm excited to get started," said Richards, whose last four seasons as a WoO LMS regular produced two titles in 2009 and 2010) and a pair of runner-up points finishes in 2008 and 2011. "I've been home working in the shop non-stop since after the World Finals (last November at The Dirt Track at Charlotte) and I feel like we're more prepared (for the WoO LMS) than we've ever been. Help-wise and equipment-wise, I think we're in really good shape.

"You need good help to be a success, and we have plenty of that with (crewmen) Matt Barnes and Cody Duncan and my dad. It's good to have a bunch of guys all working toward the same goal, winning races and the World of Outlaws championship."

With two new Rocket Chassis cars ready for action to start the season and powerful Roush Yates engines at his disposal, Richards is confident that he can battle defending WoO LMS champion Darrell Lanigan and the rest of the tour regulars for the crown. When he departed the series last year after seven events he was in the thick of the championship hunt, sitting second in the standings, 36 points behind Lanigan.

Richards is taking nothing for granted, however.

"I know we've had a lot of success the last few years that we ran with the Outlaws," said Richards, who won twice in 13 WoO LMS starts last season to push his career win total on the tour to 39 (just two behind Lanigan's current record of 41 victories). "We won a lot of races and were a contender for the title the last three times we ran the series, and I expect us to do well again just because I know how much effort and work we've put into this, but then again, nothing's easy.

"Without a doubt, we're going to have to work for everything we earn this year. Everyone's been doing their homework during the off season, so we're just going to have to do what we can to try and stay ahead of everybody."

Richards will get some extra motivation for his dirt Late Model effort from his new affiliation with Valvoline, the famed brand of oil that joins a list of Richards's sponsors that includes Seubert Calf Ranches, Ernie D's Enterprises, Kentucky Fuel Corporation, ACE Metal Works and Petroff Towing.

"We've had a relationship with Valvoline since 2002 and I'm proud to have this iconic brand on board as our major sponsor in 2013," said Richards. "When you think of Valvoline, you think of racing.

"It means a lot to me personally to have them on the house car because the first race that I ran in 2003 (a special event for teenage racers during the Dirt Track World Championship), I drove one of Francis's cars and Valvoline was on the car then. This will be my 10th anniversary season of racing, so having Valvoline join us is definitely a cool way to celebrate it."
