For Immediate Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Wild and Interesting Weekend for Ricky Weiss Headingly, Manitoba, Canada (07/28/15) – It was a strange weekend for Ricky Weiss. While the Headingly Manitoba driver crossed the finish line in first in both of his weekend’s events in his Derrick’s Sandblasting #7 Bloomquist Chassis/Pro Power Racing Engine Late Model, he was only awarded with one of the wins. Ricky Weiss resumed his 2015 season on Thursday evening by making the trip to Brown County Speedway (Aberdeen, South Dakota), powering his Derrick's Sandblasting #7 Bloomquist/Pro Power Racing Super Late Model. Competing in another OneMain WISSOTA Challenge Series event, Weiss was one of thirty-one entries that looked to bring home a $2,000 payday. In the finale Ricky finished ahead of all competitors by a straightway only to find out after the race was completed that he was disqualified. It was determined Ricky Weiss incorrectly placed his transponder taking away the way victory. Saturday night brought Ricky to Greenbush Race Park (Greenbush, Minnesota) to compete in a Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) event. Laying down the quickest time in a field of 24 Super Late Models, Weiss went on to bag a heat race victory. Starting on the pole for the $1,100 to win feature, Weiss scored his fifth NLRA win of the season. Bringing his tally to fifteen wins on the season, Weiss ousted Brad Seng, Dustin Strand, Mike Balcaen, and Bill Mooney. “I have no words for the situation on Thursday night, other than it was just very frustrating to have a win taken away because a transponder position is 1/2” out of tolerance after we win by a straightaway,” said Weiss. “However, we kept our heads up and went out and got the win on Saturday night, so that was a definite plus.” For more results from these events, please visit www.Wissota.org and www.NLRA.org . Ricky now looks ahead to another busy weekend, which will open on Thursday evening at Red River Co-Op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada). Friday evening will take the team to I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) before the weekend draws to a close on Saturday evening at Jamestown Speedway (Jamestown, North Dakota) with a Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) event.
