Riley Hickman Back Where He Left Off 2013; Atop Southern All Stars Points

FAYETTEVILLE, TN—Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., is back where he finished the 2013 season and that is in first place of the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series point’s standings.  In 2014 Hickman finds himself back in the same situation as he has had one win and a second place finish so far in the 2014 season and this has got him back on top of the points as the series heads to Smoky Mt Speedway on Saturday night April 26th for the Rockin With The Stars 40 lap $5,000 to win event.

Hickman also has some company with him at the top of the standings as Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL., is only six points behind Hickman and looks to be making a run at the title also in 2014 as well as East Alabama winner Joe Armistead of Senoia, GA., who is currently third in the series.  Fourth place belongs to Chris Wilson of Crossville, TN., who is in his first full year with the series and is running for the Cruise with the Champions/Dirt On Dirt Rookie of the Year title and in fifth place in one of his best season starts in years and also looking to make a title run is Alabama veteran Bo Shirley of Gadsden, AL.,

Sixth, seventh and eight in points are all new comers to the series and they are Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS., Dylan Ames of Harvest, AL., and Josh Putnam of Florence, AL., out of those three Cooley and Putnam have the most tour experience as Cooley competed in the Nesmith Series and Putnam won the Southern Regional Racing Series championship.  Ames in his first full year of touring with a series is also looking to make a run at the rookie title.  Ninth place is William Thomas of Phenix City, AL., and tied for the tenth spot is Jason Welshan of Maryville, TN., and Cale Finley of Athens, AL., Finley also places on competing with the series this year as well as 12th place drivers Mark Gant of Savannah, TN.  11 drivers have been to both events so far during the season and all of them are expected to be in action at Smoky Mt Speedway.

The 2014 Cruise with the Champions/Dirt On Dirt Rookie of the Year points totals will be calculated after the Smoky Mt Speedway race as competitors have three races to determined if they are running for rookie of the year honors.
