Jared Hawkins Snares $6k Payday in Southern 50

Fairmont, West Virginia (07/18/13) – Jared Hawkins powered his #37 Rick Sturms Motorsports/Rocket Super Late Model to the $6,000 feature win in the 3rd Annual Southern 50 at Southern Ohio Speedway (Wheelersburg, Ohio) on Friday night!

Jared started his night by winning his heat race to earn the pole position for the 50 lap feature. As the finale went green Hawkins bolted to the lead and went on to lead all 50 laps on his way to the victory, which marked his fifth of the 2013 campaign! He was followed across the finish line by Josh McGuire, Tim Dohm, Devin Moran, and Delmas Conley.
“We just had a great car all night,” said Hawkins. “My crew and sponsors are really giving me an incredible piece right now. The next race can’t get here soon enough.”

This weekend the team will invade Elkins Raceway (Kerens, West Virginia) for a pair of big events. Jacob Hawkins Wins at Elkins Raceway

Fairmont, West Virginia (07/18/13) – Jacob Hawkins piloted his #20h St. Henry Nite Club/Creekside/Rocket/Dargie Racing Engine Super Late Model to his third victory of the 2013 season on Friday night with a triumph at Elkins Raceway (Kerens, West Virginia).

Via preliminary action Jacob earned the pole position for the feature, and when the green flag dropped he bolted to a lead that he would never relinquish as he led every lap on his way to the victory.

"The car was just awesome tonight, and with some big money on the line here at Elkins next weekend, we are really excited about our program," commented Hawkins. "I can't thank all of my great sponsors and supporters enough. This win is for them."

On Saturday evening the team competed at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) with the United Late Model Series. Jacob earned the 7th starting spot in the 24 car field for the $3,000-to-win feature via preliminary action before registering a 5th place finish at the checkered flag.
