10th Annual Gumbo Nationals this Weekend at Greenville Speedway

Greenville, Mississippi (09/27/16) – In just two more days teams and fans from across the southeast will set the gumbo on fire as the 10th Annual Gumbo Nationals will come to life at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) on September 29-October 1, 2016.

This is a must-see event each year. In fact, in 2015 it was chosen to be one of DirtOnDirt.com’s Top 5 Super Late Model races of the year.

For 2016 the Super Late Model division will battle a total payout in excess of $40,000 as the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Model thunders into town. The finale will be headlined by a $10,000-to-win/$1,000-to-start, 75 lap feature, which again matches the richest event in the facilities history.  All Super Late Models will be required to run an 8" spoiler.

A talented field of entries is expected once again for the event. The expected list of entries is growing by the hour and already includes two-time and defending champion, Timothy Culp. Culp will be joined in action by multi-time Gumbo Nationals champ, Bub McCool, who is returning to competition after a four-month hiatus. Brian Rickman leads the latest Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) standings and will look to clinch his first series title this weekend.

Other Super Late Model entries, who have voiced an interest in competing so far include Jack Sullivan, Riley Hickman, Josh Putnam, Chad Thrash, Clay Fisher, Chandler Petty, Jonathan Rowan, Kyle Beard, Hunter Rasdon, Rick Rickman, Brett White, Tanner Kellick, Bo Gordon, Duke Palasini, Tommy Surrett, Dean Carpenter, Robert Baker, Bubba Harrison, Mitchell Cauley and a host of others.
