Rodney Sanders Launches New Website; Prepares for Florida Invasion

Happy, Texas (02/07/13) – Rodney Sanders is the newest addition to the MSR Mafia Team and has launched a brand new website at www.RodneySandersRacing.net .

Rodney hails from Happy, Texas and pilots the #20 Swan Energy/Kimrad Transport/MB Customs/Geddes Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified at events across the nation. For the 2013 season he also plans to make several Super Late Model starts as he continues to expand his driving career.

While it's just early February Sanders is already full-bore into the 2013 season with three wins under his belt. The victories came during the inaugural Winter Extreme at Tucson International Raceway (Tucson, Arizona) in mid-January. He debuted his brand-new MB Customs Open Wheel Modified with wins in the first three rounds. He battled the handle for the next two rounds before closing out the six race series with a second place finish to Jason Krohn. He also made his first-ever Super Late Model start the weekend before during the opening round of the 7th Annual Wild West Shootout at Central Arizona Raceway (Casa Grande, Arizona) in Jason Krohn's #7k MB Customs Super Late Model. He started the night by impressively winning his heat race and looked to be a contender for the win in the feature before mechanical issues late in the race relegated him to a fifth place finish.

The team now turns its attention to Florida Speedweeks and will begin action with a tripleheader at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) on February 7th-9th before moving to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) for the UNOH DIRTCar Nationals, which will be held February 13th-19th. For more information on the events please visit www.BubbaRacewayPark.com and www.DIRTCarNationals.com .

Chub Frank Ready To Begin 35th Racing Season With February World of Outlaws Late Model Series Swing Through Southeast

BEAR LAKE, PA – Feb. 7, 2013 – After a typically busy winter, Chub Frank is ready to begin his 35th season behind the wheel of a race car.

The 51-year-old veteran from Bear Lake, Pa., will hit the milestone this weekend (Feb. 8-9) when he enters the ‘Winter Freeze’ at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Ga., a doubleheader that kicks off the 2013 World of Outlaws Late Model Series. ‘Chubzilla’ will continue south with the Outlaws to compete in the Bubba Army Late Model Winter Nationals on Feb. 15-17 at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Fla., and the 42nd UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment on Feb. 21-23 at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla.

“We’re looking forward to getting going,” said Frank, whose ’13 plans center on following the WoO LMS for the 10th consecutive year. “When you’ve raced as long as we have you learn that nothing ever gets easier, but that’s the challenge of it. We’re just gonna have to get up on the wheel and run as hard as we can all year.”

Frank failed to reach Victory Lane in WoO LMS competition for the third consecutive season in 2012, but he did put together a solid campaign. His finished as high as second while registering 10 top-five finishes – matching his top-five total from the previous two seasons combined – and placed fifth in the points standings.

The longtime owner-operator is hoping that 2013 will be the year he snaps his frustrating winless streak on the World of Outlaws tour. With a new Corry Rubber/Lake Shore Paving/Hino Toyota Rocket No. 1* prepared for duty starting this week and powerful Roush Yates engines once again ready to propel him, Frank feels he has the artillery necessary for success against the nation’s best dirt Late Model drivers.

“We’ll see what this new car is like when we get out there and run it, but I think it’ll be good so I’m hoping for more than just one win this year,” said Frank. “We made some strides last year. Our qualifying was definitely better, so if we can keep that up we’ll put ourselves in position to win races.

“We definitely have to qualify well down in Georgia and Florida. The way the (WoO LMS) points are, you’re gonna have to run good right off the bat or you’ll end up in a big hold by the time you leave Florida.”

As is normally the case, Frank just wishes the off-season was a bit longer. He and returning crew chief Brad Baum worked right to the last minute this week finishing up their new Rocket machine for the southern trip – largely because Frank spends a big chunk of his winter putting cars together for about a dozen customers.

“We were busy all winter,” said Frank. “We’re so busy doing work on customers’ cars, it’s hard to get our own stuff ready. We had about 14 cars go through our shop this winter, so it would’ve been nice to have at least one more week to get our own stuff ready.

“But that’s O.K. If we were just working on our own stuff we could get it done no problem for the start of the season, but we gotta work on other peoples’ cars to pay the bills. That’s how we keep racing.”

Chub Frank Racing receives support from many valued sponsors, including Corry Rubber, Lake Shore Paving, Hino Toyota, Sorbera Family Chiropractic, Horton Equipment, All-Star Performance, Slavic Corporation, GW Performance, Integra Shocks, Hoosier Tire and Roush-Yates Racing Engines.

MOTTER MOTORSPORTS LOOKING FOR STELLAR SHOWING
AT 2013 INAUGURAL WORLD OF OUTLAWS WEEK-LONG RACE IN FLORIDA

PENGILLY, Minn. (Feb. 7, 2013) – The Motter Motorsports team rolled out of its winter headquarters early this morning en route to the inaugural 2013 World Of Outlaws STP Sprint Series week-long race in Barberville, Fla.

Motter Motorsports, with veteran driver Joey Saldana at the wheel, will make its debut at the UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment at Volusia Speedway Park beginning with a practice session on Feb. 12.

The team’s owner, Dan Motter, is returning to World of Outlaws competition as a team owner following a 15-year hiatus from the sport.  He will field a team with state-of-the-art equipment including a new truck and trailer, five engines and six cars.

His crew is long on talent with a history of winning performances, led by veteran tuner Davey Whitworth who is reuniting with Saldana.  Whitworth and Saldana combined their talents in 2002, winning 10 World of Outlaw events and finishing second in point standings.  Bob Curtis and Sean Strausbaugh round out the tuning talent for the 71M sprint car team.

Since 2008 at the Volusia Speedway Park fast half mile, Saldana has earned seven top-five finishes and 11 top 10s in 14 races in World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series competition.  He also won back-to-back titles in UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit competition in 2010 and 2011.

“We understand that there is a tremendous amount of competition in this class, and we  devoted a lot of time into planning and research to get the best equipment and talent,” said Motter.  “My goal is to be competitive right out of the box and hope the bright yellow livery of our Motter Motorsports 71M sprint car leads the field at many events this season.

“Joey is excited as I am to get the season underway.  He is totally vested in this team and will oversee the Motter Motorsports effort as it will base operations out of Joey’s Brownsburg, Ind. shop for the remainder of the racing season.

“We hope to do well at Volusia to start positive momentum for the season,” concluded Motter.

Practice will start Tuesday, Feb. 12 at Volusia Speedway Park, followed by two nights of UNOH All Start Circuit of Champions competition and three nights of World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series action.

Motter also owns Motter Equipment, a global supplier of mining and construction equipment and component parts for surface mining and construction industries with corporate offices near Hibbing, Minn.
