For Immediate Release 20th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot One Week Away Meridian, Mississippi (10/16/14) The 20th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic is just a week away from coming to life at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) on October 23rd-25th, 2014 as competitors from across the nation look to grab a coveted win in the mega-event! On the heels of another successful Coors Light Fall Classic in 2013, the event is back for more in 2014. For the twentieth straight year, many of the best competitors in the nation and the region will converge on the southeast Mississippi facility to contend for their respective championships. The 1/3 mile, clay oval is known for its consistently racy surface, which is prepared and maintained by racing veteran, Rodney Wing. This combined with the legendary event that was created by Charles and Jannie Thrash results in one of the most anticipated events of each racing season. Drivers please note that to ensure fair competition that the winner's check will be held for approximately one week pending tire test results from an independent laboratory. The 2014 edition of the event will be headlined by a $15,000 to win/$1,000 to start, 100 lap Super Late Model event, which boasts a total Super Late Model purse in excess of $55,000. In 2013 Zebulon, Georgia's Shane Clanton topped a talented field of Super Late Model competitors for his first Coors Light Fall Classic crown, and he will be back in 2014 looking to repeat. Drivers have until October 17th, 2014 to take advantage of a $100 early entry fee by calling Charles Thrash at 601-917-2335 or Jannie Thrash 601-486-3410. After this date the entry fee is $150. Super Late Model Feature Payout K&B Performance will be sponsoring a $200 fast qualifier award in the Super Late Model division. M-D Metals Crate Late Models will also be co-headline the event as they wage war for $2,000-to-win during the course of the event with ZaCam Performance posting a $200 fast qualifier award. The Open Wheel Modified division is being sponsored by Etheridge Race Products., and will boast a $2,000 to win event. The Robinson Electric Street Stock division will be headlined by a $1,500-to-win. On Saturday night the Pure Stock division will contest a complete show for $300-to-win. The entry fee for M-D Metals Crate Late Models and the Open Wheel Modifieds presented by Etheridge Race Parts is $25. Open practice begins Thursday night, October 23rd at 7:00 PM for all divisions. B-Mains for all divisions will be contested on Saturday night along with the 20th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic Championships. The Pure Stock division will contest a complete program.
