Tyler Erb Hits the Turbo for Gumbo Nationals Cash

New Waverly, Texas (10/03/16) – Tyler Erb hit the turbo button of the final lap of the 10th annual Gumbo Nationals to claim the biggest win of his career in his First Class Septic #91 Rocket XR1 Chassis /Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“This has been my favorite track for a long time, so to get the biggest win of my career here means so much,” said the elated 19-year-old in victory lane. “You couldn’t ask for a better surface tonight. I knew eventually that bottom groove would get slow enough that I could give Ray [Moore] a run for the lead. That last lap he slid up to the top off turn 2, and I was able to get the run and the lead.”

He concluded by saying, “I just want to thank my family, my team, and my sponsors for getting me here tonight. They’ve all stood behind me, and this win is for them.”

On Friday night Tyler Erb made the trip to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) for opening night of the 10th annual Gumbo Nationals, which was sanctioned by the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) sanctioned program. Drawing 45 Super Late Models for the Gumbo Nationals, Erb finished 2nd in his heat race to earn the 7th-starting spot for Saturday’s 75-lap finale.

As Saturday’s feature went green, Erb began creeping forward through the running order and soon found himself in the 2nd position. It looked like he might be on his way to a runner-up finish before a caution with 10 laps remaining erased Ray Moore’s large lead. On the final lap Erb used a big run exiting turn 2 to pull alongside Moore as the pair rocketed down the backstretch. Tyler took control of the lead exiting turn 4 and went on to score the $10,000 payday and his first victory of the season. Moore, B.J. Robinson, Eric Cooley, and Dane Dacus completed the Top 5 finishers.

Big Game Motorsports and Lasoski Capture Second Straight NSL Championship

Inside Line Promotions - FARMINGTON, Mo. (Oct. 3, 2016) - Big Game Motorsports wrapped up the National Sprint League championship for the second straight season last weekend during the series final doubleheader of the year.

"Guy (Forbrook) put it in perspective," said Danny Lasoski, who also piloted the team to its second consecutive track title at Knoxville Raceway earlier this season. "We've been together two seasons and have won four championships. We can't thank Tod Quiring enough for putting together this great team. It's gratifying. I'm so proud of Nate, James, Brady and Guy. They work day in and day out to make sure the car is prepared. I don't think we had one DNF outside of when I'd get in a crash."

The Muddy sponsored team competed at St. Francois County Raceway during the 21st annual Queen's Royale last weekend. The action began on Friday with Lasoski qualifying third quickest before he placed fifth in a heat race. That gave him enough points to make the feature inversion, which lined him up on the inside of the third row for the main event.

"The track took rubber at the end of the heat races," he said. "When they dropped the green in the feature it was follow the leader and tough to pass. You'll have that in racing sometimes."

Lasoski battled for a top five throughout the feature before posting a sixth-place result.

He returned to the unique oval on Saturday for the finale, which began with an 11th-place qualifying result. Lasoski then finished third in a heat race to rank 11th in overall points, which locked the Muddy backed team into the 11th starting position for the 30-lap main event.

"We got to fifth and I was trying to get fourth, which let (Brian Brown) by me," he said. "I think we had a strong race car."

Lasoski ended with a sixth-place finish for the fourth straight race.

Big Game Motorsports will take the next two weekends off before returning to action Oct. 21-22 at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.

Dale McDowell Tames Dixie Shootout for a Third Time

Welcome, North Carolina (10/03/16) – Dale McDowell added a third Dixie Shootout triumph to his resume after topping the event on Saturday evening in his Sweet-Bloomquist #17m Team Dillon Racing/ Bad Boy Off Road/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“First off I have to thank my brother, Shane, he does all the work. Hats off to he and the guys at the shop. Thanks also to Scott [Bloomquist], we have been base-lining off of them back-and-forth, it’s been pretty good,” said the winner in Lucas Oil Victory Lane for the second time this season.

“Our mom passed away five years ago yesterday. This was one of her favorite places to come to. It’s awfully hard to stay in the lead at this track; he [McCreadie] was searching and searching to try to get around those lapped cars. Fortunately, we had that caution and it took us a couple of laps to get around him. I drove it in to turn one pretty hard a couple of times and it finally stuck and we were able to get by him.”

On Saturday night Team Dillon Racing pilot, Dale McDowell traveled to Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) for the Dixie Shootout. In a field of 51 cars for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned event, McDowell landed a runner-up finish behind Darrell Lanigan in his heat giving him the 9th-starting position for the feature. After working his way into a podium position early in the event, Dale jumped into the lead on lap 43 and held the top spot for the remaining 17 laps. Holding off Tim McCreadie, Scott Bloomquist, Brandon Overton, and Darrell Lanigan, McDowell picked up his sixth victory of the season and a $12,000 payday.

McDowell also commented, “The car was good; it was balanced properly. I have fed off of what Scott and Cody have been doing. I have to thank Bad Boy Off-Road, University of Northwestern Ohio, Klotz, Boyd’s Speedway, Boyd-Bilt, Cometic Gasket, and Clements Engines.”

Sunday afternoon brought Dale to Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia) for the LOLMDS-sanctioned, Rome Showdown. Falling one position short of reaching a transfer spot in his heat with a 5th-place outing, Dale cruised to a B-Main victory, giving him the 17th-starting spot for the feature. Moving up five spots in the 50-lapper, McDowell registered a 12th-place outing.
