Tyler Erb Claims Career-Best WoO Finish with 2nd at Rockford

New Waverly, Texas (07/01/16) – Thursday night on an extremely rough track at Rockford Speedway, Tyler Erb registered his career-best World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman Late Model Series finish. Erb finished in the runner-up spot in his First Class Septic #91 Black Diamond by Club 29/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“We’ve been digging hard out here on the Outlaw tour, and it’s definitely been challenging, but tonight really feels great,” said Erb. “Hopefully our first win is just around the corner. I want to thank my family, my crew, my sponsors, and my fans for supporting me through the good and bad times.”

Competing in the inaugural Outlaw Clay Classic, Tyler Erb visited Rockford Speedway (Rockford, Illinois) on Thursday night for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series event. After posting the 3rd-fastest time in his group Erb captured his first-career heat race victory with the series, which set him up with the 5th-starting spot for the feature. With $10,000 on the line, Tyler battled extremely rough track conditions to climb forward three positions in the main event, recording a runner-up finish in the 30-lapper behind race winner, Brian Shirley with Shane Clanton, Joey Coulter, and Chub Frank rounding out the top five.

“[The track] did the best they could, and that’s all we can ask for,” Erb said. “I was just trying to do all that I could do with the track we had. We just appreciate everyone coming out and supporting us. [These races] are only a part of the Outlaw deal. It can only make you better. I think that kind of showed tonight.”
