Tyler Erb Wins Wild One at Lone Star; Dream at Eldora Next

Magnolia, Texas (05/27/15) – Tyler Erb utilized a late-race, slide job to propel his First Class Septic #91 Rocket by Erb Super Late Model to the $3,000 feature win at Lone Star Speedway on Saturday evening.

After having Saturday’s P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racers (SUPR) Late Model Series event at Boothill Speedway cancelled due to bad weather, the following night’s action at Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) was pushed forward from Sunday to Saturday in hopes the races could beat out Mother Nature.

Via preliminary action, Tyler locked into the 5th starting spot for the Memorial Day 40 feature event at the 3/8 mile oval. Erb progressively worked his way forward in the field and found himself in the 2nd position as the event approached its latter stages. With just two laps remaining he executed a daring slide job on leader, BJ Robinson, to claim the lead and ultimately the P&W Sales SUPR Late Model Series $3,000 victory. The win marked his second of the season. B.J. Robinson, Jon Mitchell, Rick Duke Jr., and Patrik Daniel rounded out the top five finishers.

“I know B.J. (Robinson) wasn’t happy with the slide job for the lead, but it was just racing,” said Erb, who had skipped his senior prom to compete in the event. “My team is performing so well right now, and I just can’t wait for the next race.”

Tyler had planned to compete at Thunder Valley Speedway (Glenmora, Louisiana) in the upcoming weekend’s $5,000-to-win event. Unfortunately Mother Nature has forced the cancellation of the event. As a result, the team will next return to action at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on June 4th-6th in the 21st Annual Dirt Late Model Dream. The event includes twin $2,500-to-win features on Thursday evening, twin $5,000-to-win features on Friday evening, and ultimately a $100,000-to-win event on Saturday.
