Dennis Erb, Jr. Conquers Indiana Icebreaker at Brownstown; NDRL Weekend Next!

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. picked up his third Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory of the young 2013 racing season in impressive fashion on Saturday night, March 23 at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana! The 16th edition of the 'Indiana Icebreaker' was held at the famed 1/4-mile oval and a strong 37 car field converged on the fairgrounds facility. Dennis timed in sixth fastest in Group B during the qualifying session and later finished second in his heat race behind only prelim victor Brandon Sheppard. After starting from the outside of the fourth row in the 50-lap feature event, Dennis used the outside groove of the semi-banked venue to bolt to the lead on lap six.

The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then worked lapped traffic to perfection in stretching out his coveted lead throughout the remainder of the 'Indiana Icebreaker.' When the checkers fell over the stellar field, Dennis claimed the commanding $10,000 win over Don O'Neal, Greg Johnson, Jared Landers, and Bobby Pierce. He now sits second in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following Brownstown. Full results can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

"The car really worked great all night and I can't thank Heather (Lyne) and everyone associated with my race team enough for all of their support," commented Erb following the dominating Brownstown triumph. "I really love racing at Brownstown and while the heat races weren't too good, the track crew got the surface in terrific shape for the rest of the night. The car would go anywhere I wanted it to in the feature, up high or down low, it was fast wherever I needed to put it. Hopefully, we can keep this momentum rolling into the big weekend at Paducah and Pevely. There is a lot of money up for grabs, so it would be nice to perform well and contend for a win!"

Next up for the Dennis Erb Racing team will be the highly-anticipated opening two events on the inaugural National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) schedule. On March 29-30, the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky and the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri will take center stage by hosting a pair of blockbuster $20,000 to win programs. A complete show featuring time trials, heat races, consolation events, and a 75-lap A-Main will take place at both Paducah on Friday and Pevely on Saturday.
