Anticipation Builds for Deep Fried 75 by CT Promotions at Duck River Raceway Park November 14- 16

Somerset, KY-November 6, 2013- The excitement is building at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN as the 2nd Annual Deep Fried 75 by CT Promotions is set to sling the clay at the Bob and Cathy Harris promoted facility on Friday November 15 and Saturday November 16, along with an open practice for all divisions on Thursday evening November 14.

This must-see weekend of dirt track racing will offer an extravaganza of clay-slinging competition, with Super Late Models racing for $10,000 to win, UMP Modifieds racing for $1,200 to win, 2 Barrel/Crate Late Models racing for $1,500 to win, Modified Street Stocks racing for $1,200 to win, Pure Pony Stocks racing for $500 to win, and Outlaw Ponys racing for $500 to win.

The Super Late Model portion of the Deep Fried 75 on Friday November 15 and Saturday November 16 will be officiated by CT Promotions and will see the Super Late Models have practice, group time trials (with the 2 fastest from each group locked into Saturday’s A-Main) and qualifying heats that will be 10 laps in distance.  On Saturday November 16, the Super Late Models will be featured in a program that will include practice, 10 lap Last Chance Showdowns, a 15 lap Non-Qualifiers event, and the 75 lap, $10,000 to win/$700 to start Deep Fried 75 A-Main.  The entry fee for Super Late Models is $100 if pre-entered (pre-entry form is located at www.duckriverracewaypark.com until Monday November 11) or $125 if a racer chooses to enter at the event.  Also, veteran Super Late Model technical inspector Jim Harrah will be on hand to handle all the technical inspections of the Super Late Models for the weekend.  

Also added, Tennessee RV Sales & Service Super Center, one of the Southeast’s largest recreational vehicle dealerships owned and operated by Roger Sellers, will sponsor a $250 award for the overall top qualifier from Friday’s group time trials and Delph Communications, owned by Ryan Delph and the leading motorsports website producer in the country, will sponsor a $100 award for the Hard Charger in Saturday’s A-Main event.

Super Late Models will utilize transponders to time and score the cars for the weekend activities.  Pembleton Scoring Solutions will be in charge of the transponders and scoring of the division for the weekend’s events.  Pembleton Scoring Solutions uses the red transponders and the rental for the weekend will be $25.  This fee covers the entire weekend of racing.  RACEceivers are also mandatory at all times for Super Late Model competitors.

CT Promotions will officiate the Super Late Model portion of the event and will utilize the following tire compound rules:  Hoosier 1600 (shoulder plated) & LM40, American Racer 56 with those compounds only on the rear and they must punch 55 before any race or qualifying, open compound tires on the front.  Random tire samples will also be taken throughout the course of the weekend’s events.  All entries will be required to utilize an eight inch spoiler.  The weight rule will be 2,300 lbs. for cars with an open engine, while those cars utilizing a steel-block engine will have to weight 2,200 lbs.  Late Model entries equipped with the CT525 all aluminum crate will also be allowed to compete and must weigh 2,250 lbs.  There will a 1 pound per lap burnoff allowance in the heats, last chance showdowns, non-qualifiers event, and the 75 lap, $10,000 to win A-Main event.

The UMP DIRTcar Modifieds will join the already stellar-card for both nights of this must-see event on Friday November 15 and Saturday November 16.  The UMP DIRTcar Modifieds will race for $1,200 to win and $100 to start in their portion of the Deep Fried 75 weekend at Duck River Raceway Park.  On Friday November 15, the UMP DIRTcar Modifieds will time trial and contest qualifying heats, while on Saturday November 16, the UMP DIRTcar Modifieds will be in action in B-Mains and the 20 lap, $1,200 to win/$100 to start A-Main event for the open wheel warriors.  CT Promotions will officiate the UMP DIRTcar Modified portion of the weekend as well and all standard 2013 UMP DIRTcar Modified rules will apply.  CT Promotions has also spoken with officials at UMP at there will be UMP technical inspectors on hand for the event as well.  The entry fee for the UMP DIRTcar Modifieds for the weekend will be $50.  The UMP DIRTcar Modifieds will also utilize transponders for timing and scoring purposes for the weekend and Pemberton Scoring Solutions will also be handling this for the open-wheel division as well.  The cost is $15 and that will take care of the whole weekend.

The 2 Barrel/Crate Late Model division will be in action as well on Friday November 15 and Saturday November 16.  On Friday November 15, the 2 Barrel/Crate Late Models will time trial with the 18 fastest qualifiers locked in for Saturday’s A-Main, while on Saturday November 16, the 2 Barrel/Crate Late Models will contest B-Mains and the 40 lap, $1,500 to win A-Main event for the division.

The Modified Street Stock division will be in action on Friday Night November 15 and contest a full program of qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $1,200 to win Modified Street Stock A-Main.  This division will see the rules used for this event be the same as the Street Stock Fall Brawl at Clarksville (TN) Speedway a few weeks back in place for this event.

The Pure Pony and Outlaw Pony divisions will also be in action as part of the Deep Fried 75 weekend at Duck River Raceway Park.  On Friday November 15, the Pony division will be in action with qualifying heats and a 25 lap, $500 to win main event.  On Saturday November 16, the Outlaw Pony division will be featured in a full program of qualifying heats and a 25 lap, $500 to win main event.

Also, the 2 Barrel/Crate Late Models, Modified Street Stocks, Pure Pony, and Outlaw Pony divisions will also utilize transponders for timing and scoring purposes for the weekend and track promoters Bob and Cathy Harris are picking up the tab on that expense for the racers in these divisions for the weekend.

In addition to all of the great racing set for the weekend, track co-promoter Cathy Harris will be having a Toys for Tots drive at the track as well that weekend.  All fans, drivers, and race teams are welcome and encouraged to participate and give to the Duck River Raceway Park Toys for Tot drive at the Deep Fried 75 on November 15, 16 to help brighten the Christmas holiday for children that may not otherwise have an enjoyable Christmas season.  Also, Duck River Raceway Park would like to announce it has already booked a return visit in 2014 by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on April 11, setting up a WoO Late Model Series doubleheader weekend of racing in the Volunteer State.

Activities for the 2nd Annual Deep Fried 75 weekend will see an open practice for all divisions on Thursday November 14 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. CDT and will be $10 per car and $10 per person to attend.  On Friday November 15, the general admission area and pit area open at Noon, with the drivers meeting set for 6:00 p.m., while practice laps will get the green flag at 6:30 p.m., followed by time trials and green flag racing.  On Saturday November 16, the general admission area will be cleared between 11:30 a.m. and Noon, with the general admission area and pit areas reopening at Noon.  There will be a special driver’s autograph session in the general admission area for all fans in attendance from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the drivers meeting set to begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by practice laps at 5:00 p.m., with green flag race action set to follow.  All times listed are CST.  Ticket prices for the 2nd Annual Deep Fried 75 in the general admission area will see a two-day pass go for $40, while a one-day pass will be $20.  Children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, while children ages 5 and under are free with a paid adult.  A two-day pit pass will be $65 for the weekend, with a one-day pit pass going for $35.

Microtel Inn and Suites in Shelbyville, TN will serve as the Official Host Hotel for the Deep Fried 75 at Duck River Raceway Park.  Microtel Inn and Suites is located at 1207 North Main Street in Shelbyville, TN 37160.  Room rates will be $69.00 per night for single, $74.00 per night for double, and $79.00 per night for a suite.  Patrons must use the promo code “Deep Fried 75” to be eligible for these room rates.  Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check out time is 11:00 a.m (these times are CDT).  Patrons will also have access to a free continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi internet access, and a 24 hour a day fitness center, along with a large selection of restaurants located nearby.  These rates will only be available November 14 through November 16.  To make reservations for the weekend, phone (931) 684-8343.
