Duck River Raceway Park announces the Sam Pugh Labor Day Weekend Late Model Extravaganza.

Sat. August 31st $2000 To-Win 2 Barrel/Crate Late Models and $1200 To-Win Super Late Models & Regular Weekly Show. On Sun. September 1st $2000 To-Win 2 Barrel/Crate Late Models & $3000 To-Win Super Late Models

Wheel, TN (08/07/2013)- Duck River Raceway Park is gearing up to deliver a Labor Day weekend Late Model Extravaganza in honor of Duck River Raceway Park originator Mr. Sam Pugh with over $30,000 in late model purse and high-speed dirt racing action on Saturday August 31st and Sunday September 1st. Featuring a $2000 To-Win 2 Barrel/Crate Late Model event and Regular Weekly Show on Saturday August 31st. Then roll right over to Sunday night September 1st with a $3000 To-Win Super Late Model event and a $2000 To-Win 2 Barrel/Crate Late Model event, along with regular divisions racing.

2 Barrel/Crate Late Models have produced high numbers and some of the best door-to-door racing this year at DRRP and it’s time to pay them their due by giving them 2 nights of separate $2000 To-Win events during our Labor Day Weekend Special. There will be a $100 entry fee for each event. There will also be a Non-Qualifiers race paying $200 to the winner. Also, $500 extra added to a driver that wins both nights.

The 2 Barrel/Crates will run the same format as a super late model event; hot laps, qualifying, heat races and a 40 lap main event. Starting with time trails, the top 6 qualifiers will be locked in to the main event. The rest of the competitors will run 10 lap heat races with the top 6 from each group moving to the main event. Those that don’t qualify or heat race in will be able to run for a Non-qualifiers race paying $200 To-Win or the option to forfeit the $200 and start 25th in the 40 lap main event on both August 31st and September 1st.
