Deep Fried 75 by CT Promotions $10,000 to win Rolls at Duck River on November 15, 16

(Wheel, TN-October 11, 2013) – Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN is pleased to announce the details concerning its season ending for the 2013 race season.  The 2nd Annual Deep Fried 75 will take place at the ¼ mile race-place affectionately known as “Ducktona” promoted by Bob and Cathy Harris on Friday November 15 and Saturday November 16.  The Super Late Model portion of the event will be sanctioned by CT Promotions of Somerset, KY and its race director Chris Tilley.  The Super Late Models will battle 75 laps for $10,000 to win and $700 to start.

The schedule of events for the weekend will see an open practice for all divisions on Thursday November 14 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. CDT and will be $10 per car and $10 per person to attend, with the actual race program getting cranked up on Friday and Saturday evenings.

On Friday November 15, the Super Late Models will be in action with practice laps, groups time trials that will see the top two qualifiers from each group locked into Saturday night’s Deep Fried 75, with the remainder of the qualifying groups going into 10 lap qualifying heat race events.  Also in action on Friday evening November 15 will be qualifying heats and feature contests for the Modified Street and Pure Pony divisions.

On Saturday November 16, the Super Late Model division will be in action with 10 lap Last Chance Showdown qualifying events, a non-qualifiers event, and the 75 lap, $10,000 to win Deep Fried 75 A-Main.  Other divisions in action on Saturday November 16 will include Two-Barrel Late Model time trials and feature and Outlaw Pony qualifying heats and feature.

Track promoters Bob and Cathy Harris are also excited to announce lower admission prices in both the general admission and pit areas for the 2013 version of the Deep Fried 75, along with a lower entry fee for the Super Late Model division for the event.  Pre-entry information will be posted on the track’s website soon at www.duckriverracewaypark.com and the Super Late Model entry fee is $100 if a race team is pre-entered and Duck River Raceway Park receives the entry prior to the event.  The entry fee is $125 on raceday and that is good for the entire weekend.

Activities for the 2nd Annual Deep Fried 75 on Friday November 15 will see the general admission area and pit area open at Noon, with the drivers meeting set for 6:00 p.m., while practice laps will get the green flag at 6:30 p.m., followed by time trials and green flag racing.  On Saturday November 16, the general admission area will be cleared between 11:30 a.m. and Noon, with the general admission area and pit areas reopening at Noon.  There will be a special driver’s autograph session in the general admission area for all fans in attendance from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the drivers meeting set to begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by practice laps at 5:00 p.m., with green flag race action set to follow.  All times listed are CDT.

Ticket prices for the 2nd Annual Deep Fried 75 in the general admission area will see a two-day pass go for $40, while a one-day pass will be $20.  Children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, while children ages 5 and under are free with a paid adult.  A two-day pit pass will be $65 for the weekend, with a one-day pit pass going for $35.

Super Late Models will utilize transponders to time and score the cars for the weekend activities.  Pembleton Scoring Solutions will be in charge of the transponders and scoring of the division for the weekend’s events.  Pembleton Scoring Solutions uses the red transponders and the rental for the weekend will be $25 or if  a driver has their own transponder that will work with this system, it is just $10.  This fee covers the entire weekend of racing.  RACEceivers are also mandatory at all times for Super Late Model competitors.

CT Promotions will officiate the event and will utilize the following tire rule:  Hoosier 1600 (shoulder plated) & LM40, American Racer 56 with those compounds only on the rear and they must punch 55 before any race or qualifying, open tires on the front.  Random tire samples will also be taken from the event.  All entries will be required to utilize an eight inch spoiler.  The weight rule will be 2,300 lbs. for cars with an open engine, while those cars utilizing a steel-block engine will have to weight 2,200 lbs.  There will a 1 pound per lap burnoff allowance in the heats, last chance showdowns, non-qualifiers event, and the 75 lap, $10,000 to win A-Main event.

The Deep Fried 75 was first contested at Duck River Raceway Park in 2012 and Vic Hill of Mosheim, TN would be victorious in an exciting main event.  North Carolina native Ray Cook would take runner-up honors, with Virginia’s Walker Arthur finishing third.  Illinois native Dennis Erb, Jr. would finish fourth, while Mississippi’s Ross Campanova would complete the top five in the event that drew 38 entries from all across our great country.

Microtel Inn and Suites in Shelbyville, TN will serve as the Official Host Hotel for the Deep Fried 75 at Duck River Raceway Park.  Microtel Inn and Suites is located at 1207 North Main Street in Shelbyville, TN 37160.  Room rates will be $69.00 per night for single, $74.00 per night for double, and $79.00 per night for a suite.  Patrons must use the promo code “Deep Fried 75” to be eligible for the rates.  Check in time is 3:00 p.m. and check out time is 11:00 a.m.  Patrons will also have access to a free continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi internet access, and a 24 hour a day fitness center, along with a large selection of restaurants located nearby.  These rates will only be available November 14 through November 16.  To make reservations for the weekend, phone (931) 684-8343.
