Jake Tucker Competes With USCS Modifieds at Checkered Flag Speedway

Collierville, TN (3/02/08) – Jake “The Snake” Tucker and Tucker Motorsports kicked off the 2008 season by making their first ever visit to Checkered Flag Speedway in Hohenwald, Tennessee on Saturday to compete with the Rislone USCS Open Wheel Modified Series.

Coming into the day, Tucker was a little under the weather after having his wisdom teeth removed just a few days before, and his luck on Saturday did not make him feel much better.  Jake drew the largest pill of anyone at the pill draw, which resulted in him starting 8th in the final heat race of the night behind the wheel of his #11 Larry Shaw/Dynotech Racing Engine/Parts Plus/Valvoline entry.  Tucker would finish 5th in his heat race, which earned him a mid-pack starting spot for the main event.  His time in the feature would be short-lived as he was tagged from behind during an early race restart.  The contact forced him into the competitor in front of him, and it broke his left front tie-rod, ultimately ending his evening.  He was credited with a 20th place finish.

Tucker Motorsports will next be in action on Saturday, March 22nd at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tennessee with the Southern Modified Promotions (SMP) Open Wheel Modified Series in a $1,500 to win event.  Tucker plans to compete in all of the SMP events in 2008.  For more information, please visit www.SMPRacing.net .

Tucker Motorsports would like to thank all of their sponsors including Parts Plus, Valvoline Oil, Smyth Auto (Cincinnati, OH), Champion Electric (Collierville, TN), Mr. Parts Stores (Pine Bluff, AR), Auto Sport Center (Little Rock, AR), Dynotech Engines, Main Street Garage(Collierville, TN), The UPS Stores(Collierville, TN), Comp Cams, Dynamic Electric(Memphis, TN), and Wilson Competition (Tony Wilson).
