Ray Cook Dominant in Winterfest Victory; Eyes Bama Bash this Weekend!

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Brasstown, North Carolina pilot Ray Cook claimed his second feature win of the 2013 racing season on Saturday night, February 23 in the 10th Annual 'Winterfest' at the Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Tennessee! Ray laid down the fastest lap of the 38 entrants in attendance during qualifying for the unsanctioned show and later controlled the field from the pole position in the 40-lap feature event. The popular driver known as the "Tarheel Tiger" picked up the $3,000 top prize by leading from green to checkers to finish ahead of David Seibers, Tim Busha, Jay Brinkley, and Riley Hickman! Full results from 'Winterfest' can be accessed by clicking on www.winchesterspeedway.net.

"It was a good day for us at Winchester last Saturday, that is for sure," quoted Cook recently via telephone. "They had a pretty big field of cars and we were able to qualify fastest, which put us in prime position for the feature. The start of the season for us has been really promising, aside from a few mechanical issues. Maybe we got those problems out of our way early in the season. I am looking forward to Green Valley this weekend, except for the cold weather forecast, and hopefully we can have strong runs in both the Super Late Model and Crate Late Model."

Next up for the Ray Cook Racing team will be a trip to the Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama for the 16th Annual 'Bama Bash.' The unsanctioned Super Late Model showdown will be held on March 1-2 and a $16,016 winner's check will be on the line. Ray was the 2009 and 2010 victor of the 'Bama Bash' and finished third in last year's version of the prestigious event. He will also unload a Crate Late Model at GVS this weekend to vie for the $2,016 winner's share. Additional information on the Dennis Harker-owned facility can be obtained by accessing www.greenvalleyspeedway.com.
