COMP Cams Engine Builder of the Year to be Honored at Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Banquet

CORONA, CA (November 19, 2009) - COMP Cams and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will honor and award Cornett Racing Engines as the top engine builder of the year on the series in 2009. Cornett Racing Engines based in Somerset, KY earned the most engine builders points during the year competing against seven other engine builders that participated in the COMP Cams Engine Builders Challenge in 2009. Jack Cornett owner of Cornett Racing Engines has won the title of COMP Cams Top Engine Builder two years in a row on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Drivers that competed regularly on the series in 2009 that use Cornett Racing Engines included Jimmy Owens, Brad Neat, Steve Casebolt, John Blankenship and Bart Hartman to just name a few.

Cornett Racing Engines will be honored at the series banquet on Saturday November 21st at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. COMP Cams will award Cornett Racing Engines as the top engine builder and a special award to the runner up engine builder Pro Power Racing Engines.

COMP Cams one of the many sponsors and supporters of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series continues to give back to their customers that support the series. As the title sponsor of the COMP Cams Engine Builders Challenge, COMP Cams rewards the engine builders that support the sport of dirt late model racing and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. COMP Cams is also the title sponsor of the Topless 100 held each year at the Batesville Speedway in Batesville, AR. The mega event pays $40,000 to the winner and is sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

Contingency Award Winners to be Honored at Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Banquet

CORONA, CA (November 18, 2009) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will host their series year end awards banquet this weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana this Saturday night November 21st. The series will honor Scott Bloomquist for winning his first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship along with the top 13 drivers in the series point's standings.

Among the many awards to be presented, several contingency awards will be handed out as well. PBM/Erson Cams will present a special award to Earl Pearson Jr. for earning the PBM/Erson Cams Hard Charger of the year award. Earl won the Hard Charger of the Year award by passing the most cars throughout the year and accumulating the most Hard Charger points. PBM/Erson Cams awarded the driver at each event that passed the most cars a product certificate as the PBM/Erson Cams Hard Charger of the Race.

Allstar Performance will award Dale McDowell a special award for earning the most points in the "Allstar Performer of the Race" category throughout the year. The "Allstar Performer of the Race Award" was awarded at each event to a driver that had the best performance, not necessarily the winner, but the driver that stood out during the event as an exceptional performance. Allstar performance awarded a product certificate at each event for the Allstar Performer of the race.

AFCO will make a special presentation as the sponsor of the AFCO Heat Race Winners category. Scott Bloomquist and Jimmy Owens tied for the most heat race wins on the series in 2009 with 14. The tie breaker went to the driver with the most second place finishes and Scott Bloomquist won the tie breaker. Scott will receive a special award from AFCO for earning the AFCO Heat Race Winners category for the series in 2009.
Dixie Chopper will make a special presentation at the series banquet honoring series champion Scott Bloomquist. Scott earned the most points in the Dixie Chopper Challenge on the series in 2009. The Dixie Chopper Challenge awarded points to drivers only during the TV races in 2009 and Scott Bloomquist earned the most points throughout the year during the TV races. Scott will receive a special award from Dixie chopper at the banquet.

Wrisco Aluminum will make a special presentation to both the Series Champion and series Rookie of the Year. As the Series Champion Scott Bloomquist will receive a special award from Wrisco Aluminum at the banquet. Rookie of the Year John Blankenship will also receive a special banquet award from Wrisco Aluminum. Wrisco Industries is the official Aluminum company for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
Dyers Top Rods will also make a special presentation to the series Champion and series Rookie of the Year. Both Scott Bloomquist and John Blankenship will receive a special award at the banquet from Dyers Top Rods.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will also honor and present a special award to the top chassis builder that participated in the Chassis Builders Challenge on the series in 2009. Bloomquist Chassis earned the most points in the Chassis Builders Challenge and will be awarded the "Top Chassis Builder Award" for the 2009 season at the series banquet. Scott Bloomquist owner and founder of Bloomquist Chassis will receive the special award at the banquet.
