Colonial Clash Championship Presented by DirtNation Offers Over $125,000 for ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series Teams

Carnesville, Georgia (November 20, 2015) - The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series will embark on yet another milestone season in 2016. Today the series announced new additions to their schedule in the form of the Colonial Clash Championship presented by DirtNation. The Colonial Clash will be a 4 day mini-series hosted among 4 tracks on the Mid-Atlantic coast. The event will essentially be a series within a series currently with a $15,000 point fund to be paid out among the top 15 for the mini-series. “Ernie Shelton’s USA 100 at Virginia Motor Speedway has long been one of the most prestigious events in the country. We are very honored that Bill Sawyer and Ernie have entrusted us to sanction this event. We also felt like if we could add a lead-in race that it would help to draw more cars and fans. So when we had such a positive response from the area tracks it really became a no-brainer for us.” said ULTIMATE Series Owner Stan Lester.

“We wanted to do something to bolster up car counts and try to bring in more of the traveling fans to our USA 100 event. We knew if we could work together with some of the other tracks and promoters in the region that we could do just that. It just shows that promoters can work together and have it be a good situation for everyone involved. The USA 100 was already a big event but when you add these other races along with the point fund and the increase in the purse for the event I believe we can turn up the excitement and bring more drivers, sponsors and race fans into the fold.” said Virginia Motor Speedway’s Bill Sawyer.

The Series will venture to 3 new venues for the mini-series. On Thursday, June 2nd the Series will open at Delaware’s Georgetown Speedway for a $4000 to win / 40 lap event. Friday, June 3rd Potomac Speedway in Bud’s Creek, Maryland will host a $5000 to win / 50 lap event. On Saturday, June 4th the 39th Annual USA 100 features a purse boost and will pay $15,000 to win for the 60 lap feature. And finally racers will wrap up the weekend at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Virginia with another $5000 to win / 50 lap show.  The overall points champion will receive a $4000 point check along with other prizes. Drivers must attend all 4 events to be eligible for point monies. “The point payout is solid. It pays $500 for 15th. I think everyone will like what we put together.” ULTIMATE Series Director Kelley Carlton said.

“We want to thank everyone involved in putting this monster event together. We are looking forward to working with Bret Deyo, who has taken the lease of Georgetown, along with Greg Gunter and Denise Hollidge at Potomac and Winchester. And of course we always enjoy working with Bill and Clarke Sawyer and their staff at Virginia Motor Speedway. In fact much of the credit for building this event goes to Brian Tidball and Dave Seay at Virginia Motor Speedway. We had already been talking to Greg and Denise about working together but Brian and Dave really helped things get put together. I am very excited about this deal. It’s good for the racers. It’s good for the fans. And we believe it will be good for the tracks too. Racers can make a good long weekend of it and have something to show for it at the end. Delaware is a little further North than we have ever been but with the point money and the opportunities to race for good purses, I think it will make sense to our teams.” added Carlton.
