Lasoski Supporting GoMuddy.com NSL 360 Series Opener This Weekend at 81 Speedway

Inside Line Promotions - WINDOM, Minn. (March 21, 2016) - Big Game Motorsports driver Danny Lasoski will return to action this weekend at the inaugural GoMuddy.com National Sprint League 360 Sprint Car Series event.

While the Muddy backed team is busy focusing on the inaugural National Sprint League event next month, Lasoski will pilot his own sprint car this weekend at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., during the $10,000-to-win Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout.

"I'm really excited to compete this weekend with the GoMuddy.com NSL 360 Series," he said. "Tod (Quiring) and Tommie (Estes Jr.) have put together a great deal and we're thrilled we can support the opening event. That would be pretty special to be the first winner with the series."

Lasoski is no stranger to Victory Lane at 81 Speedway or during the event, which he won last year to tie Jason Johnson for the most victories (two) at the Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout.

"They usually give us a top groove and a bottom groove to race on there and that is what puts on a great show for the fans," Lasoski said. "Mark Burch has loaned us an engine for this weekend so I know we'll have a great shot to win."

Lasoski started eighth during last year's event before he charged forward to take the lead around Lap 10. He cruised to the victory, which was his first at the event since 2011.

Big Game Motorsports will return to action on April 9 at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, for the National Sprint League season opener.

Bergman Battles Back from DNF to Earn Runner-Up Result during Opening ASCS Weekend

Inside Line Promotions - MESQUITE, Texas (March 21, 2016) - Seth Bergman wrapped up the opening weekend of the season for the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour with a podium finish.

Bergman placed second last Saturday at Devil's Bowl Speedway, where he closed the weekend with momentum and dramatically improved on his result from the first race of the weekend.

"I'm happy because I feel like our race car has good speed and we know why," he said. "We're getting things where they need to be with our race program. If you're going to be a championship contender you have to have reasons why you are fast and have things figured out. The DNF in Waco isn't the best way to start the season, but if you're going to be a champion you have to be able to overcome bad things."

Bergman began the weekend last Thursday at Heart O' Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, by winning his heat race after starting on the outside of the front row. That earned him a position in the feature redraw, where he pulled the second-highest number - seven - to start the main event on the inside of the fourth row.

"I got a good start and two laps into it I was in fourth or fifth," he said. "A car spun in front of me and I couldn't avoid it. I clipped him and got upside down. We were on track for a solid podium and possibly a shot at a win. It's frustrating to end the night like that."

Bergman was unable to resume the race and he was credited with a 22nd-place finish.

However, the weekend concluded on a much better note. Following Friday's rain out at Devil's Bowl Speedway, Bergman capitalized on a good pill draw to kick off Saturday's event at the unique half-mile oval.

"Saturday was pretty successful," he said. "It was interesting because with ASCS this year there's no provisionals. That makes things more interesting knowing you don't have that cushion. And with 40 cars or more they have implemented a qualifier. We were fortunate I got a good draw, which helps you a lot at Devil's Bowl."

Bergman won his heat race from the pole position before he finished where he started - second - in a qualifier. That ranked him sixth in overall points heading into the main event.

"The car felt good all night," he said. "I knew we had a car capable of being up front. We got to fourth pretty quick. As our fuel load started burning off our car got better and better. I found myself in position to win late in the race. The breaks just didn't go my way. Wayne (Johnson) was really good and he earned it. In open race track we were pretty equal. When we got to traffic I'd bring him in really quick. We just never got in traffic long enough. I can't say I would have won the race if we were in traffic, but I would have had more opportunities."

Bergman ended with a runner-up result.

He is slated to return to ASCS National Tour competition this Friday at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, and Saturday at Bronco Raceway Park in Cleveland, Texas.

QUICK RESULTS -

March 17 - Heart O' Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas - Heat race: 1 (2); Feature: 22 (7).

Sides Picks Up Career-Best World of Outlaws Result at Stockton Dirt Track

Inside Line Promotions - STOCKTON, Calif. (March 21, 2016) - Jason Sides powered to his career-best result at the Stockton Dirt Track last Saturday to cap the FVP Western Spring Shootout with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

"It was a lot better than the last two or three years there," he said. "Just to get out of there without tearing anything up was good after the time we've had there in recent years."

The weekend began last Friday with Sides qualifying 20th quickest. He then finished where he started - fifth - in a heat race to lock himself into the 20th starting position for the main event.

"It goes back to qualifying," he said. "The first night we were in the middle of the pack. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't enough. When you're starting in the third row of a heat race you try to get yourself a row. We got to third on the first lap, but there was a caution. On the restart it didn't go as well and I ended up finishing fifth."

Sides picked up a handful of positions in the main event as he posted a 15th-place result.

"There wasn't much passing for us," he said. "The track was a little difficult. They had knocked the cushion down and watered the bottom. There was a lot of train racing on the bottom."

Finishing positions improved on Saturday as Sides timed in 16th quickest overall. He then maneuvered from sixth to fourth place in a heat race, which lined him up on the outside of the fifth row for the feature.

"We got to seventh on the start," he said. "The bottom was decent and the top was good. I think Jason Johnson went back by us on the top late in the race. Someone else got beside us so I learned the top was getting faster. I moved up top and ran there the rest of the race."

The eighth-place result marked the third top 10 of the season with the World of Outlaws for Sides, who ranks ninth in the championship standings.

He will return to action on Wednesday at Placerville Speedway in Placerville, Calif., for the Brad Sweet presents the Placerville Short Track Outlaw Showdown with the World of Outlaws.
