FRIDAY PRACTICE SCHEDULED FOR REWORKED TALLADEGA SHORT TRACK

CARTERSVILLE, GA – A Friday night practice session has been scheduled for Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL prior to the $6,000-to-win 3rd Annual Dega 100 for the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series on Saturday night. The Friday night practice session will be open to all divisions, and the track will have undergone a complete refurbishing this week.

Local racer Ted Lackey of C.S. Beatty Construction has brought in over $1-million worth of equipment and is working with “Dr. Dirt” Johnny Stokes of Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS to completely rework the clay racing surface of Talladega Short Track in an effort to open up multiple racing grooves for this Saturday night’s racing program.

This Saturday night’s 3rd Annual Dega 100 at Talladega Short Track will treat race fans to a rare opportunity to see three NeSmith Racing Divisions competing in the same event with the Chevy Super Series, the NeSmith Late Models, and the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stocks.

The 3rd Annual Dega 100 on Saturday night will be the 2015 season finale for the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series. While the race is open to all competitors, it could pay $10,000-to-win to one of 16 Hoosier Racing Tire “Road To Dega” drivers. The Chevy Super Series cars are powered by the $7,295 all-aluminum Chevrolet Performance CT525 Racing Engine based on the production LS3 Engine.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Late Models will take to Talladega Short Track on Saturday night for a $1,500-to-win race. The NeSmith Late Models are powered by the $5,795 Chevrolet Performance aluminum-head 604 and the $3,495 steel-head 602 Circle Track Engines.

The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division will also be in action on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track with a $1,500-to-win race. The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stocks have the option to use the Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

Race Fans are encouraged to come to Talladega Short Track early on Saturday night for the Chevy Fan Zone where Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series drivers will bring their race cars to the grandstand area from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. to meet and greet the fans. The Chevy Super Series Fan Zone Central Souvenir Trailer will also be there, and the drivers will have autographed Hero Cards and Coloring Books for the kids.

On Friday night for the Open Practice, the pit gate opens at 5 p.m. and the on track activities will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturday, the pit gate opens at 4 p.m. with Chevy Super Series Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection from 4:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. with Hot Laps to follow.
