CLOSE COMPETITION DRIVES THE CHEVY SUPER SERIES INTO THE DEGA 100 ON OCT. 3

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Going into the 2015 season finale for the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series, the $6,000-to-win 3rd Annual Dega 100 on October 3 at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, the statistics after the first eight races of the season show close competition rules in America’s first “Factory Backed and Factory Built” Super Late Model Series.

When one looks at the number of race winners, the number lap leaders, the number of fast qualifiers, and the number of lead changes,  it shows if you’re not a fan of side-by-side racing, cars passing each other, and close finishes, you may want to go watch another racing series.  However, super late model fans are becoming rather fond of the Chevy Super Series style of competition.

In eight Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series races held in 2015, there have been eight different winners.  There have been 15 different drivers that have led a Chevy Super Series race this season.

In eight races, there have been seven different fast qualifiers.  At each of the eight races, the Top 20 qualifiers were separated by less than one second, and the average was .775 seconds.  In eight Chevy Super Series races in 2015, there have been 18 lead changes and the average margin of victory in the first eight races has been less than one second.

The 2015 $10,000 Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series National Championship will be up for grabs at the 3rd Annual Dega 100, as just 14 points separate point leader Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN and second-place Tyler Crowder of Lamont, FL.  These two drivers finished one-two respectively in last year’s points chase.

The third-place driver Tim Busha of Boaz, AL and the fourth-place driver Adam Martin of Talladega, AL are also mathematically in the running for the 2015 Chevy Super Series title, as 48 points separate Martin from Johnson.  Just four points separate Busha and Martin in the battle for the third spot in the point standings.

The battle for the 2015 Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year Award is also a close one, as Martin leads Mario Gresham of Rome, GA by just 20 points.  Gresham sits fifth overall in the Chevy Super Series point standings.
