EAST TENNESSEE TWO-STEP FOR CHEVY SUPER SERIES THIS WEEKEND

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ATHENS, TN – The Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series will invade East Tennessee this weekend with two 50-lap $3,000-to-win races.  America’s first “Factory Backed and Factory Built” super late model series will visit I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, TN on Friday night, and 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN on Saturday night.

The Chevy Super Series will be making its first visit ever to I-75 Raceway, a track that most of the series regulars, including the defending series National Champion and current point leader Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN, have never seen before.  I-75 Raceway will also be hosting its first-ever national touring super late model series.

This Saturday will be the second visit of the 2015 season for the Chevy Super Series at 411 Motor Speedway.   Action-packed two and three-wide racing has become common-place for the Chevy Super Series at 411 Motor Speedway that have drawn record crowds.  On March 21, Johnson started 23rd and won the season opener.

Johnson comes into Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2015 Chevy Super Series season with a two-point lead over Tyler Crowder of Lamont, FL in the battle for the $10,000 Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series National Championship.  Adam Martin of Talladega, AL is third in the point standings and also leads the Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year point standings.

Other top Chevy Super Series regulars expected include Mario Gresham of Rome, GA, Tim Busha of Boaz, AL, Jake Knowles of Rome, GA, Brandon Williams of Crossville, TN, Jadon Frame of Winchester, TN, Ross Martin of Talladega, AL, Trevor Thompson of Dallas, GA and the best of the rest.

The Chevy Super Series regulars will be taking on a tough local contingent of drivers that include Matt Henderson of Loudon, TN, Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN, Ryan King of Seymour, TN, Cory Hedgecock of Lenoir City, TN, John Ownbey of Cleveland, TN and many more local favorites that will be looking to make a name for themselves on the National Stage of dirt late model racing.

Race fans are encouraged to get to both tracks early for the Chevy Fan Zone where the drivers will bring their race cars to the fans in the Grandstand area before the action gets underway on the race track.

Fans can meet the drivers, get to know them and see their race cars up close.  Drivers will have “hero cards” to autograph and there will also be coloring books for the kids.  Chevy Super Series apparel will be available to purchase at the Chevy Fan Zone Central Souvenir Trailer.  Fans can have a more enhanced experience because they will know who the drivers are on the track.

The fans can also get a close look at the economical all-aluminum Chevrolet Performance CT525 Racing Engine that power the Chevy Super Series race cars and is based on the production LS3 Engine that comes in the Chevrolet Corvette, Chevrolet Camaro, and Chevrolet SS available at Chevrolet dealerships worldwide.  Fans may have the same engine in their car that is in the Chevy Super Series race cars.

The Friday night I-75 Raceway event and the Saturday night 411 Motor Speedway race will both be Hoosier Race Tire Road To Dega Events.  The top four eligible drivers from four selected Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series events will be eligible for a $4,000 Bonus from Hoosier Race Tire.

If one of the 16 drivers wins the season finale, the $6,000-to-win Dega 100 on October 3 at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, they will receive the $4,000 Hoosier Race Tire Road To Dega Bonus for a $10,000 payday.  If none of 16 Road To Dega drivers win the Dega 100, the highest finishing Road To Dega driver will receive a $1,000 Bonus from Hoosier Race Tire.

Coming into this weekend’s events, eight drivers have already qualified for the Hoosier Race Tire Road To Dega Bonus Money.  Four more will come from Friday night’s race at I-75 Raceway, and the final four drivers will come from the Saturday night race at 411 Motor Speedway.
