CHEVY SUPER SERIES MISSISSIPPI DOUBLE HEADER POSTPONED UNTIL JULY 10-11

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Due to the high percentage forecast of rain and already wet conditions, Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series officials have postponed both Mississippi races this weekend that were scheduled for Friday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and this Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

The Mississippi Double Header for the Chevy Super Series has been rescheduled for July 10 at Magnolia Motor Speedway, and for July11 at Whynot Motorsports Park. Travel concerns for race teams and getting in both races for their benefit was also a determination for the postponement.

“The majority of our race teams competing in the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series have at least a six to seven hour pull to compete in Mississippi,” Chevy Super Series Director Adam Stewart said. “While the chances were better on Saturday to race than on Friday, it was important that our teams have a good opportunity to compete on both days, and the weather forecast is not favorable for that to happen.”

With a lesser chance of rain for Saturday night, Whynot Motorsports Park will run their local weekly divisions this Saturday night that will feature a $1,000-to-win Spring Championship Race for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models. The NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stocks will also compete for Week 5 National points.

The next event on the Chevy Super Series 2015 schedule is at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, TN on Saturday night, May 30.
