COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Busy Slate Continues

Beebe, Arkansas (07/29/13) – The heart of the 2013 season is currently in effect for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) as they return to their home state of Arkansas this weekend, August 2nd-3rd, for a doubleheader of racing action that will include a first time visit to a facility as well as a trip to a mainstay with the series.

With just seven events remaining in the season Kyle Beard from Trumann, Arkansas has jumped to a commanding lead in the standings, and will lead a strong contingent of racers into battle this weekend.  Drivers tentatively looking to compete in one or both of the weekend’s events include Chandler Petty, Ashley Newman, Tommy Surrett, Lynn Beach, Keith Craft, Jon Mitchell, Jon Kirby, Brandon Smith, Joseph Long, Kody Mea, Kenneth Jackson, Jack Sullivan, Billy Moyer Jr., and more.

Ashley Newman continues to maintain his advantage in the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year standings with Lynn Beach, Joseph Long, and Jake Davis in pursuit.

On Friday, August 2nd the CCSDS will sanction their first-ever event at North Central Arkansas Speedway (Yellville, Arkansas) with a $2,000-to-win/$300-to-start affair.   While the tour has competed at just about every facility in the state of Arkansas at one time or another they have never visited the 3/8 mile, high-banked oval, so anticipation is building for the inaugural event.  Gates open at 6pm with racing action at 8pm.  For more information on the event please visit www.dsmotorsports-llc.com/ .

From a first-time facility to a track that has been a part of the series since it development the CCSDS will roll into I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) on Saturday night, August 3rd for the second round of the Stallion Transportation Group Summer Series, which will post a $2,500-to-win/$400-to-start purse.  The event will mark the second appearance of 2013 for the series at the ¼ mile opener as Timothy Culp claimed the season opener back in April.  Gates open at 5pm with racing action scheduled for 7:30pm.  Also in action will be IMCA Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Stocks, and 600cc Mini Sprints.  Grandstand admission is $20 for adults with kids (6-12 years of age) $1 when accompanied by an adult.  Pit passes are $30.  For more information on the event, please visit www.I-30Speedway.com
