COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Weekend Washed Away

Beebe, Arkansas (08/30/14) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil has seen its big Labor Day weekend washed away by Mother Nature.

Rain just before race time on Friday night drenched the stellar field of 38 entries on hand for the series debut at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Arkansas) on Friday night. The $3,000-to-win event has been rescheduled for next Friday, September 5th.

“It was truly a heartbreaker to see us lose this event to rain,” said track owner, Trent Francis. “We hoped to run on Monday, but we got hammered by rain again today (Saturday). We want to provide a quality show to the racers and fans, and with all of this rain it just wouldn’t be possible.” He concluded by saying, “We’ll now look to have a great show next Friday night, and I have no doubt we will.”

Mother Nature struck again on Saturday as officials with the series and the track made the decision to postpone the event due to rain that already fallen and a chance of more to come. As of press time Poplar Bluff Speedway plans to still and contest a weekly show. The reschedule date has not yet been determined.
