The event's unique format will feature cars with the roofs removed, giving spectators an up close and personal look at what it takes for drivers to wrestle their cars around the 3/8 mile dirt oval. The Topless 100 is one of the crown jewel events on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule, and draws not only the tour's traveling stars, but a wide variety of regional and national racers looking to take their shot at the big purse as well.

COMP Cams will serve as the title sponsor of the crown jewel event, something that has become a yearly tradition for the company. For more than 35 years, the COMP Cams mission is to produce the highest-performing products possible, provide customers with superior service, and to lead the industry in technological development. While the COMP Performance Group has grown to multiple companies and hundreds of employees, COMP Cams still retains the competitive spirit and desire to be the very best and has positioned COMP Cams as the absolute leader in valve train components. "We are thrilled to be going back to Batesville Motor Speedway and sanctioning the Topless 100 again. It's always fun to see these cars without their roofs and the fans really get into this event every year. We enjoy working with Mooney and Connie Starr and the entire staff at BMS and all the great people at COMP Cams. Having COMP Cams as the title sponsor of this event with all their history and support of this race and the dirt late model industry is a real honor to be a part of. We look forward to seeing all the great loyal fans and enjoy the weekend of festivities together", stated Ritchie Lewis, Director, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

In the previous 20 COMP Cams Topless 100 events there have been 13 different drivers to visit victory lane. Only three drivers have won the prestigious crown-jewel event more than once. Hall of Famers, Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR and Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN each have won the event four times in their illustrious careers.  Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, WI is the only other racer to win the event more than once winning the event twice in 2000 and 2007.

Steve Francis of Ashland, KY added the COMP Cams Topless 100 to his list of crown-jewel victories in his career by taking the winner's check and trophy in last year's exciting event.
In the previous five COMP Cams Topless 100 sanctioned by the LOLMDS there have been five different winners with an average car count of 61 entrants. This year's event posts an impressive $40,000 to the winner, with $20,000 going to the second place finisher and $10,000 for third place.  The COMP Cams Topless 100 feature purse alone will pay out over $130,000.
