FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Little Rock, Arkansas (08/05/16) – Las Cruces, New Mexico hot shoe, Garrett Alberson wired the field at I-30 Speedway on Friday night to claim his first-career COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil feature win. Alberson started in the New Vision Graphics Pole Position, and grabbed the lead as soon as the green flag flew on the Rockabilly 33. Jack Sullivan quickly worked his way into the runner-up spot as he set his sights on Alberson. By lap 7 the leaders were negotiating lapped traffic. Over the next few laps Sullivan began reducing Alberson’s advantage as Hunter Rasdon, Scott Crigler, and Tommy Surrett gave chase. A pair of cautions slowed the event just past the halfway mark with Alberson holding the lead over Sullivan, Rasdon, and 10th-starting Wendell Wallace. A final caution flew with just seven laps remaining in the 33-lap affair when Crigler spun in turn 2. From that point Alberson went on to claim the $2,000 victory with Jack Sullivan, Hunter Rasdon, Wendell Wallace, and Ashley Newman completing the Top 5. Black Diamond Race Cars Heat Race #1 was won by Scott Crigler with Allen Manufacturing Heat Race #2 being claimed by Jonathan Rowan. M&M Paint & Construction Heat Race #3 was won by Jack Sullivan, while Garrett Alberson won ROCKHARD Powder Coating Heat Race #4. Mark Martin Powersports B-Main #1 was topped by Timothy Culp with Gavin Landers winning Arctic Cat B-Main #2. The Henryetta Ford Hard Luck Award went to Clay Fisher after his night ended after contact in his B-main. Kyle Beard passed nine cars in the feature to finish 8th and for his efforts he was awarded the Larry Shaw Race Cars Hard Charger Award. Saturday night will see the 6th annual Rockabilly 45 contested at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas). Heat race line-ups will be determined by time trials. From that point heat races, B-mains, and the 45-lap, $5,000-to-win/$500-to-start finale will be held. IMCA Modifieds, Bumper to Bumper Super Stocks, and Factory Stocks will also be in action.
