$8,000 on the Line for COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Winner this Weekend
6th Annual Rockabilly 100 posts record purse at the ¼-mile oval

Beebe, Arkansas (8/01/16) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) is set to roll into Tracey Clay’s I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) for the richest-ever edition of the annual Rockabilly 45.

The sixth running of the event, which will be held August 5-6 at the 1/4-mile oval, now offers up to $8,000 to win if a driver can sweep both nights. The opening round on Friday, August 5 pays $2,000-to-win and $350-to-start. On Saturday evening a $5,000-to-win and $500-to-start program will be contested. If a driver wins both nights a $1,000 bonus will be awarded.

Saturday night’s winner will also receive a customized, guitar trophy.

“Drivers are always saying that they would like to see higher purses, so this weekend the ball is in their court,” laughs CCSDS CEO Chris Ellis. “Tracey Clay and some great sponsors have put up a considerably increased purse for this year’s Rockabilly 45. Now it’s time to see how many racers from are up to the challenge of trying to sweep the weekend and take the $8,000 top prize.”

Tracey Clay is quick to thank the list of company’s who have stepped up to the plate to make the purse increase possible.

Hunter Rasdon from Jonesboro, Arkansas currently sits atop the series standings as he pursues his first-career championship with the CCSDS. Two-time series champion Kyle Beard resides in the runner-up position while defending CCSDS champ, Jack Sullivan is currently third. The top trio of drivers are only separated by a mere 47 markers.

Austin Theiss, Jonathan Rowan, Chandler Petty, David Payne, Mason Oberkramer, Brandon Wilson, and Wendell Wallace complete the Top 10 in the current standings.

Austin Theiss holds a 2-point advantage atop the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year standings over Jonathan Rowan. Mason Oberkramer and Brandon Wilson round out the competition.

The series drivers will have their hands full this weekend as a strong cast of invading drivers are expected to take a stab at snaring the big payday.

The program on Friday, August 5 will be a standard CCSDS program of heats with passing points, B-mains, and a feature event. Mod Lites, Mini Stocks, and 600cc Mini Sprints will also be a part of the night’s racing action.

Saturday night’s heat race line-ups will be determined by time trials. From that point heat races, B-mains, and the 45-lap finale will be held. IMCA Modifieds, Bumper to Bumper Super Stocks, and Factory Stocks will also be in action.

Friday night’s winner is guaranteed a starting spot in Saturday night’s finale.

The entry fee is $125 per night.

There will also be an Open Practice Session on Thursday, August 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Grandstand admission on Thursday night is free. On Friday night grandstand admission is $10 for adults with kids (ages 6-12) $1, when accompanied by an adult. Saturday grandstand admission is $25 for adults with kids (ages 6-12) $1. Save your Friday night ticket for $5 off Saturday night adult grandstand admission.

Pit passes are $10 on Thursday night. On Friday and Saturday pit passes are $30 each night. Armbands from the July 23 rainout at I-30 Speedway may be used either night.
