I-30 Speedway Significantly Increases Purse for Upcoming CCSDS Rockabilly 45

Beebe, Arkansas (07/28/16) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil and I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) are excited to announce that the purse for the upcoming 6th annual Rockabilly 45 weekend has been significantly increased.

The event, which will be held August 5-6 at the 1/4-mile oval, now offers up to $8,000 to win if a driver can sweep both nights. The opening round on Friday, August 5 pays $2,000-to-win and $350-to-start. On Saturday evening a $5,000-to-win and $500-to-start program will be contested. If a driver wins both nights a $1,000 bonus will be awarded.

“Tracey Clay and her staff at I-30 Speedway are really stepping up to the plate in an effort to take this event to the next level,” said CCSDS CEO Chris Ellis. “The Rockabilly 45 has always been a popular event with competitors, but drivers are really buzzing now with this big announcement. This is going to be a huge weekend that racers and fans are not going to want to miss. Even better if it goes as well as I think it could then we will likely see this event growing even more in the next few years.”

For Tracey Clay, she felt that the support that the CCSDS competitors have shown over the past several years warranted the increase.

“We’ve had some great racing with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series at I-30 Speedway, and we’ve had some great support from a lot of racers throughout the region,” commented Tracey Clay. “Along with some support from some great track sponsors we are able to give back to the racers by putting a lot of money on the line for this year’s Rockabilly. This event has us all really excited.”

The program on Friday, August 5 will be a standard CCSDS program of heats with passing points, B-mains, and a feature event. Mod Lites, Mini Stocks, and 600cc Mini Sprints will also be a part of the program.

Saturday night’s heat race line-ups will be determined by time trials. IMCA Modifieds, Bumper to Bumper Super Stocks, and Factory Stocks will also be in action.

Friday night’s winner is guaranteed a starting spot in Saturday night’s finale.

The entry fee is $125 per night.

There will also be an Open Practice Session on Thursday, August 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Armbands from the July 23 rainout at I-30 Speedway may be used either night.
