COMP Cams Super Dirt Series August Doubleheader this Weekend
Beebe, Arkansas (07/28/14) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil kicks off the month of August this weekend with a doubleheader in the state of Arkansas.
Defending series champion, Kyle Beard from Trumann, Arkansas has extended his advantage in the standings over the past few races and now holds a 48 marker lead over Clay Fisher for the top spot. Tommy Surrett, Brandon Smith, Rick Hearnsberger, Shannon Scott, Kody Mea, David Payne, Lynn Beach, and Jack Sullivan round out the top ten in the current standings.
The Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year battle continues to be ultra tight with Shannon Scott holding a slim advantage over Rick Hearnsberger, Kody Mea, and David Payne.
This weekend’s action opens at Diamond Park Speedway (Nashville, Arkansas) on Friday, August 1st with a $2,000-to-win/$300-to-start event. Brandon Smith raced to victory at the track in 2013. The program this Friday marks the only appearance of the tour at the facility in 2014. Factory Stocks will battle for $350-to-win, while Novice, Factory Stock, Pure Street, and Mod-Lite classes will also be part of the racing card. Saturday, August 2nd will find the stars and cars of the tour invading I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) for a $2,000-to-win/$400-to-start affair. Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, and Super Stocks will also be part of the show. Adult grandstand admission is $25 the day of the show or fans can save $5 by purchasing their tickets in advance at the Pit Road Bar & Grill, which is located in the track parking lot. Ronny Adams conquered the ¼ mile oval in early April as the series made its only other appearance of 2014 at the facility. Grandstand admission for ages 6-12 is $1 when accompanied by an adult.
