COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Set for Timberline and Diamond Park

Beebe, Arkansas (07/23/13) – After a one-week break the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model competitors will return to action this weekend, July 26th-27th, with a pair of events in Texas and Arkansas.

On the heels of his recent strong runs Kyle Beard has retaken the point lead in the CCSDS with Ross Camponovo 12 markers behind. Robert Baker, Ashley Newman, Clay Fisher, Chandler Petty, Tommy Surrett, Lynn Beach, Keith Craft, and Jon Mitchell round out the current top ten in the standings.

Ashley Newman continues to be the mainstay atop the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year standings Lynn Beach, Joseph Long, and Jake Davis pursuit.

The weekend opens on Friday, July 26th with the tour's second trip of the 2013 campaign to Timberline Speedway (Corley, Texas) as a $2,000-to-win/$300-to-start program is contested. The series made its debut at the oval in early May as 2012 Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year, Robert Baker, claimed the win. Baker will look to remain perfect at the oval in this Friday's program. Also on the card will be Open Wheel Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Super Stocks, and Novice. Racing action starts at 8pm. Saturday, July 27th will see the tour making their first appearance of the season at Diamond Park Speedway (Nashville, Arkansas) as the competitors will be chasing a $2,000-to-win/$400-to-start purse. The CCSDS was schedule to sanction a race at the clay oval in June, but rain forced the cancelation of the event. In 2012 the series visited the facility twice with Robert Baker and Jack Sullivan splitting wins. A full compliment of local divisions will also be a part of the program including Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Factory Stocks, and Novice. Gates open at 5pm with racing action at 8pm.
