COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Set for Arkansas Doubleheader

Beebe, Arkansas (07/09/13) – The 2013 season for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) will thunder on this weekend, July 12th-13th, with a double shot of action in their home of Arkansas.

With eight events contested thus far into the 2013 season Ross Camponovo from Clarksdale, Mississippi resides atop the standings with a 22 point lead over Kyle Beard from Trumann, Arkansas.  On the heels of his win last Saturday night at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) Robert Baker from Bryant, Arkansas has gained ground on the front runners in the point's chase and currently sits third in the standings.  Clay Fisher, Ashley Newman, Chandler Petty, Tommy Surrett, Keith Craft, Lynn Beach, and Allen Murray round out the top ten in the current standings.

Ashley Newman continues to extend his advantage in the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year standings with Lynn Beach, Joseph Long, and Jake Davis in pursuit.

This Friday, July 12th the CCSDS competitors will invade the racy confines of Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) for a $2,000-to-win/$300-to-start program.  The race, which fell victim to rain in April, will mark the lone appearance by the tour at the lightning-fast, 3/8 mile oval in 2013.  Also on the racing card for the evening will be IMCA Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sweet Sport Mods, and the Bad Boy Super Stars.  For more information on the event please visit www.BatesvilleMotorSpeedway.net .

Action moves to Northeast Arkansas Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) on Saturday, July 13th for a $2,000-to-win/$400-to-start event at the 1/4 mile, clay oval.  The series visited the facility last month for a double shot, and it was Tony Jackson Jr., who swept the weekend action.  On Saturday night Factory Stocks, Street Stocks, E-Mods, Open Wheel Modifieds, and Bone Stocks will also be a part of the night's events. Grandstand admission is $20 for adults, $15 for students (ages 13-18), and $5 for children (12 and under).  Pit passes will be $30 for adults, $15 for children (ages 6-12), and free for children (5 and under).  Gates open at 3pm with the driver's meeting at 6:30pm with hot laps at 7:15pm and racing action at 8pm.  For more information on the event please visit www.NEASpeedway.com .
