Huge Greenville Speedway Weekend on Tap for COMP Cams Super Dirt Series

Beebe, Arkansas (07/01/14) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil is set to make history this weekend, July 4th-5th, at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) as the tour hosts its first-ever, two day extravaganza at the storied, 1/4 mile oval.

The weekend opens on Friday, July 4th with a $1,500-to-win/$250-to-start event with a $75 entry fee.  On Saturday, July 5th a $2,000-to-win/$300-to-start program will be contested with a $100 entry fee.  Hot laps, time trials, heat races, b-mains, and a finale will be part of each night's program.  Each feature will be 30 laps.  As a further incentive the top two finishers from Friday night's program are guaranteed the ninth and tenth starting spots in Saturday night's feature if they are unable to race their way into the finale via preliminary action.  Super Late Models will utilize transponders for scoring at a cost of $20 per night.

Defending series' champion, Kyle Beard from Trumann, Arkansas continues to lead the series standings with Clay Fisher, Tommy Surrett, Brandon Smith, Shannon Scott, Rick Hearnsberger, Kody Mea, Lynn Beach, David Payne, and Jack Sullivan rounding out the current top ten.

The Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year battle is led by Henryetta, Oklahoma's Shannon Scott, who is one point ahead of Rick Hearnsberger with Kody Mea and David Payne rounding out the battle.

A strong field of regional and local drivers are expected to be on hand to challenge the travelers including Bub McCool, Timothy Culp, Ross Camponovo, Gavin Landers, Duke Palasini, Mark Tice, Greg Fore, Bubba Harrison, Christopher Showah, Doug Showah, Brett White, Tanner Kellick, and a host of others.

On Friday night NeSmith Crate Late Models and Street Stocks will also be a part of the program, while Saturday night will see Nesmith Crate Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Pure Streets, Street stocks as part of the program.

For this event only the series will also allow the Hoosier 1350 tires on all four corners of competitor's entries for the first time ever in an effort to make it feasible for more drivers from the area to participate in the show, who don't normally race with the tour.

Grandstand admission on Friday is $15 for adults with children (ages 6-14 years-of-age) $5 and kids (5-years-of-age and under) free.  Saturday grandstand admission for adults is $20 with children (ages 6-14 years-of-age) $5 and kids (5-years-of-age and under) free.  Two day adult grandstand tickets are available for $30.

Pit admission for adults is $30 on Friday with children (ages 6-14 years-of-age) $10 and kids (5-years-of-age and under) free.  Adult pit admission is $35 on Saturday with children (ages 6-14 years-of-age) $10 and kids (5-years-of-age and under) free.  Two days adult pit passes are available for $60.

Each night the grandstands open at 5pm with the pit gate swinging opening at 3pm.  The driver's meeting is at 6:45pm with hot laps scheduled for 7:00pm with racing action to follow.
