Magnolia State Triple Threat Weekend for COMP Cams Super Dirt Series

Beebe, Arkansas (06/28/16) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil is locked and loaded for a triple header in the state of Mississippi over the course of the Independence Day weekend.

The trio of events will likely play a major role in the pursuit of the 2016 CCSDS championship. Not only will series drivers have to battle one another, but they will find themselves going head-to-head with a talented cast of regional competitors.

Entering the weekend’s trio of events, two-time series champion, Kyle Beard holds a 6-point advantage over Hunter Rasdon. Defending CCSDS champ, Jack Sullivan is just 39 markers back in the 3rd-position, while leading rookie, Austin Theiss sits in 4th with Chandler Petty rounding out the Top-5. The next five spots in the standings are occupied by David Payne, Mason Oberkramer, Brandon Wilson, and Jon Mitchell.

Austin Theiss continues to lead the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year standings, but Jonathan Rowan has reduced his advantage to just 2-points. Oberkramer and Wilson round out the current standings in the rookie battle.

The weekend opens on Friday evening, July 1 at Wesley Washington’s Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi), where a $2,000-to-win/$350-to-start event will be contested. The Mississippi Street Stock Series will also be on the evening’s card along with NeSmith Crate Late Models and Factory Stocks. Gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps scheduled for 7 p.m. and racing action to follow. Grandstand admission is $20 for adults while kids (ages 6-to-14) are $5. Pit admission is $35 for adults, $10 for kids (ages 6-to-14), and free for kids (ages 5-and-under). Saturday, July 2 takes the tour to Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) for the first time in its history. The night will be highlighted by a $2,000-to-win/$400-to-start finale. The Mississippi Street Stock Series along with Open Wheel Modifieds, NeSmith Crate Late Models, and Factory Stocks will also be in action. Gates open at 5 p.m. with the driver’s meeting at 6:30 p.m. and hot laps at 7:00 p.m. Racing action is slated for 7:30 p.m. Adult grandstand admission is $20 with seniors and kids (ages 7-to-12) $10. The red-hot weekend draws to a close on Sunday evening at Johnny Stokes Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) with a $2,000-to-win/$350-to-start event. NeSmith Late Models, Street Stocks and Factory Stocks will be in action. The pit gate will open at 3 p.m., with grandstands opening at 5:00 p.m. Racing is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. To put an exclamation point on the weekend, the band Trademark will perform in the infield following the completion of the racing program as fireworks light up the sky. Pit admission for adults is $35, kids (ages 6-to-10) are $25, and kids (5-and-Under) are free with an adult. Grandstand admission for adults $15, kids (10-and-under) are free with an adult. Entry fee each night is $110 with non-qualifiers receiving $100.

Each night’s CCSDS format will include group qualifying, heat races, b-mains, and a main event. The tire rule for the weekend is Hoosier 1350, Hoosier 1600, and Hoosier LM40.
