Randy Timms Tames Tri State Speedway in CCSDS Competition

Pocola, Oklahoma (06/11/16) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil concluded a triple header weekend with a visit to Tri State Speedway on Saturday night, where Randy Timms scored the $3,000 victory for his first-ever triumph with the tour.

Thirty-six entries registered for competition in the event, which was co-sanctioned by the CCSDS and MARS Super Late Models. After surging to the win in his heat race, Austin, Arkansas’ racer, Chandler Petty earned the New Vision Graphics Pole Award.

At the drop of the green flag, fellow front-row starter, Kyle Beard grabbed the lead. The two-time CCSDS Champ from Trumann, Arkansas paced the field for the first twelve circuits before 4th-starting, Randy Timms surged to the top spot.

Timms went on to drive away from the field to score the victory by more than two seconds.

"I felt like the bottom was the lane to be in. I just committed and kept digging, you know, getting whoa'd up enough to get committed to the bottom and started reeling 'em back in," Timms said. "And then when we got into lapped traffic, I was able to turn under 'em and exit and make the pass. And then hang on from there."

Beard, Hunter Rasdon, Chandler Petty, and Jon Mitchell completed the Top-5 finishers.

Black Diamond Race Cars Heat Race #1 was won by Randy Timms with Allen Manufacturing Heat Race #2 being claimed by Kyle Beard. M&M Paint & Construction Heat Race #3 was won by Morgan Bagley, while Chandler Petty won ROCKHARD Powder Coating Heat Race #4. Jason Hughes took the win in Racing Head Service Heat Race #5.

Mark Martin Powersports B-Main #1 was topped by Jacob Magee with Jon Mitchell winning Arctic Cat B-Main #2.

The Larry Shaw Race Cars Hard Charger Award was won by Jon Mitchell, who advanced from 19th-5th. Jake Davis received the Henryetta Ford Hard Luck Award after just missing the starting grid for the finale.

The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series will now enjoy an off-weekend before returning to action June 24-25 with a doubleheader at Tracey Clay’s I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas).
