Magnolia State Weekend on Tap for COMP Cams Super Dirt Series

Beebe, Arkanas (05/09/16) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil heads to the Magnolia State this weekend, May 13-14 for a pair of challenge events with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS).

Last weekend the series found Hunter Rasdon and Wendell Wallace each claiming wins. With the two different victors there have now been five different winners in the first five events of the season for the CCSDS. Austin Rettig, Jack Sullivan, and Scott Bloomquist have also visited victory lane in series competition.

Heading into weekend’s events Austin Rettig from Sikeston, Missouri continues to lead the series standings with a 7-point advantage over defending champion, Jack Sullivan. Hunter Rasdon, Garrett Alberson, Kyle Beard, Jon Mitchell, Kyle Cummings, Austin Theiss, Chandler Petty, and Jonathan Rowan round out the top ten.

Texas-racer, Theiss, continues to pace the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year competition with Rowan, Mason Oberkramer, and Brandon Wilson in tow.

The CCSDS racers will found a formidable challenge awaiting them at both the upcoming weekend’s events as the MSCCS competitors will look to defend their home turf. MSCCS will be led into battle by defending champion, Bub McCool from Vicksburg, Mississippi. McCool will likely be joined by Brian Rickman, Dean Carpenter, Howard Means, Kody Barber, Terry Mosley, Rick Rickman, Chad Thrash, Brett White, and a host of others.

The weekend opens on Friday, May 13 at Wesley Washington’s Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) with a $2,000-to-win/$350-to-start, 35-lap affair. This will mark the first of three appearances by the CCSDS at the ¼-mile oval in 2016. Bub McCool, Hunter Rasdon, and Tyler Erb all found victory at the facility in 2015. Grandstand admission will be $20 for adults with kid’s (ages 6-to-14) $5, and kids (ages-5-and-under) free. Pit admission is $35 for adults with kids (ages 6-14) $10 and kids (ages 5-and-under) free. A weekly racing series event for local divisions will accompany the program. Saturday, May 14 takes the CCSDS to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for a $2,500-to-win/$400-to-start, 40 lap event. Saturday’s event will mark the first of two appearances at the facility for the CCSDS this season. Bub McCool scored the win in 2015 as the series made its debut at the state-of-the-art, 3/8-mile oval. NeSmith Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, and Factory Stocks will also be a part of the program. Grandstand admission is $20 for adults with kids (ages 10-and-under) Free with a paying adult. Pit admission is $35 for adults with kids (ages 6-to-10) $25, while kids (5-and-under) are Free. The entry fee will be $110 each night at the CCSDS trailer with non-transfer drivers receiving $100.
