Hunter Rasdon Becomes 5th Different Winner of ’16 in CCSDS Action

Vivian, Louisiana (05/07/16) – Charging from the 4th-starting spot to the lead on the opening circuit, Hunter Rasdon conquered the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil event on Saturday night at Ark-La-Tex Speedway.

With his third-career triumph on the tour, the Jonesboro, Arkansas racer became the 5th different winner in the first five events of the 2016 season.

With 34 entries on hand, Austin Theiss from Hockley, Texas held the New Vision Graphics Pole Position for the 40-lap finale, but it was Rasdon who shot to the top spot from his second-row, starting spot to lead lap-1.

Both Jack Sullivan and Austin Rettig took different shots at Rasdon for the top spot in the event that was slowed by two cautions. However, Rasdon continued to pace the field as he tap-danced around the high-side of the clay oval. In the late stages of the event he stretched his advantage.

The pilot of the Brown Brothers Farms #R5 Black Diamond Super Late Model would be stingy with the lead throughout the duration of the event on his way to the victory at the Gene Boyter-owned facility.

Austin Rettig, Jack Sullivan, Garrett Alberson, and Kyle Beard completed the top five finishers.
Jonathan Rowan was the Larry Shaw Race Cars Hard Charger after advancing eleven spots in the feature, while Brandon Wilson was the recipient of the Henryetta Ford Hard Luck Award after being spun in both his heat race and b-main.

Austin Theiss won Black Diamond Race Cars Heat Race #1, while Austin Rettig took the win in Allen Manufacturing Heat Race #2. Garrett Alberson won M&M Paint & Construction Heat Race #3. ROCKHARD Powder Coating Heat Race #4 was topped by Jack Sullivan, and Hunter Rasdon won Lucas Oil Heat Race #5.

The Mark Martin Powersports B-Main #1 was topped by Danny Zimmerman. Brett Frazier won Arctic Cat B-Main #2.

The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series now turns its attention to a doubleheader in the Magnolia State next weekend, May 13-14. Action opens with a $2,000-to-win event on Friday night at Wesley Washington’s Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) before heading to Johnny Stokes’ Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) on Saturday evening for a $2,500-to-win event.
