COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Heads to Texas and Louisiana

Little Rock, Arkansas (04/30/13) – With the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model competitors fresh from a one week break since their opener on April 20th at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas), the tour is now set to host its second and third rounds of the 2013 campaign this weekend, May 3rd and 4th, with events at Timberline Speedway (Corley, Texas) and Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana).

Timothy Culp from West Monroe, Louisiana started his first year on the road with the CCSDS with a bang by claiming the $2,500 win in the season opener at I-30 Speedway. He will lead a strong host of contenders into action this weekend including Kyle Beard, Ashley Newman, Robert Baker, Larry Campbell, Chandler Petty, Jon Kirby, Keith Craft, Clay Fisher, Brandon Smith, Shane Harris, Keith Lawson, Lynn Beach, Jon Mitchell, Joseph Long, Drew Armstrong, Travis Mosley, and more.

On the heels of a great performance with a third place finish in the season opener Ashley Newman from Ripley, Tennessee leads the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year standings over Lynn Beach, Joseph Long, and Drew Armstrong.

This weekend's action opens with the tour's first ever trip to the brand new, 3/8 mile oval at Timberline Speedway (Corley, Texas) on Friday, May 3rd with a $2,000-to-win/$300-to-start program. The state-of-the-art facility opened earlier this year and has been having great racing and great crowds on a weekly basis. Joining the CCSDS Super Late Models on the card will be Limited Modifieds, Factory Stocks, and Novice. Gates open at 4pm with racing action at 8pm. Grandstand admission is $18 with senior/military $15, children (ages 6-12) $5, and ages (5 & under) free. Pit passes are $30. Saturday, May 4th will see the CCSDS invading the "Land of Four Wide" as they tackle the 1/4 mile oval at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) for a $2,000-to-win/$400-to-start event. Known for its racy surface the facility never disappoints when the CCSDS rolls into town. Open Wheel Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, Pro Mods, Factory Stocks, and Beginners will all be in action. Grandstand admission is $20 with children (age 10 & under) free. Pit admission is $30. Gates open at 5pm with racing action at 7:30pm.
