COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Late April Showdown on Tap

Beebe, Arkansas (04/22/14) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil will close out the month of April this weekend, April 25th-26th, with a pair of $2,000-to-win events in Tennessee and Arkansas.

The third and fourth rounds of the season will present more chances for racers to extend the streak of no repeat winners in 2014. Events so far this season have seen Scott Bloomquist, Wendell Wallace, and Timothy Culp all finding victory lane, while Mother Nature claimed a single victory at Outlaw Motor Speedway (Muskogee, Oklahoma).

Entering this weekend's action Wendell Wallace and defending series champion, Kyle Beard, are deadlocked atop the standings. Tommy Surrett, Kody Mea, Clay Fisher, Chandler Petty, Shannon Scott, Brandon Smith, Rick Hearnsberger, Josh Hughes, Lynn Beach, and David Payne round out the current top twelve in the series points.

The Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year battle has found Southaven, Mississippi's Kody Mea getting a jump on the competition with Shannon Scott, Rick Hearnsberger, and David Payne in pursuit.

Friday night, April 25th will find the tour rolling into Camden Speedway (Camden, Tennessee) for the second straight year. 2013 found a talented field of entries battling for the inaugural win at the racy, 3/8 mile oval, and it was Ross Camponovo topping the action. The CCSDS presented by Lucas Oil competitors will return on Friday night for a complete program that will be capped by a 35 lap, $2,000-to-win/$300 to start finale. Also in action will be E-Mods and Hobby Stocks. Grandstand admission for ages 12-and-above is $10 with ages 11-and-under free. Senior discounted admission is $5 and valid U.S. Military receive free admission. Pit admission for ages 12-and-up is $25 with ages 6-to-11 $10, and ages 5-and-under free. On Saturday evening, April 26th the series rolls into Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) for a $2,000-to-win/$400-to-start program. Ross Camponovo and Brandon Smith won at the famed, 1/4 mile oval in 2013. Time trials, heat races, b-mains, and a 35 lap feature will all be held for the event.  As a technical bulletin please note that competitors in the weekly Riverside Late Model division are allowed to run Crate 55 tires on the front only as a part of this event.  305 Winged Sprint Cars, 600cc Mini Springs, and Street Stocks will also be in action.  Grandstand admission is $20 for adults with kids ages 6-to-11 $5, and ages 5-and-under free. For more information on the facility please visit www.RiversideInternationalSpeedway.com .
