COMP Cams Super Dirt Series to Open 2013 Season this Weekend

Beebe, Arkansas (04/16/13) – After seeing Mother Nature put a damper on the scheduled openers for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Models last weekend the tour take a second stab at lifting the lid off the 2013 campaign this weekend with a rumble through a pair of Arkansas ovals.

Last weekend’s scheduled doubleheader has been rescheduled for June 21st and June 22nd with Camden Speedway hosting a $2,000-to-win event that Friday night and Riverside International Speedway hosting their $2,000-to-win race on Saturday evening. The CCSDS competitors will now look to open their 2013 campaign this weekend on April 19th at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) with a $2,000-to-win/$300-to-start event. IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Sweet Industries Sport Mods, and the BadBoy Super Stars will also be on the card. Admission is $15 for adults with ages 15 and under free. On Saturday night the action moves to I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) on Saturday night for a $2,000-to-win/$400-to-start program. IMCA Open Wheel Modifieds, Bumper to Bumper Super Stocks, and Mod Lites will also be in action. $20 for adults, kids 6-12 $1 when accompanied by an adult. $30 pit passes. For more information on the event please visit www.I-30Speedway.com .

The 2013 CCSDS roster of drivers looks to be the strongest ever with Texarkana, Texas pilot, Jon Mitchell, returning to defend his title. Among his returning pursuers for this season are 2011 CCSDS Champion, Brandon Smith, Kyle Beard, Jon Kirby, Shane Harris, Chandler Petty, Larry Campbell, Travis Mosley, Keith Lawson, Kenneth Jackson, and Robert Baker. Newcomers to the tour for 2013 (who aren’t eligible for Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year honors) are Timothy Culp and Keith Craft.

The Kuntz & Company Rookie of the Year battle is already taking form as a barnburner with Rick Hearnsburger, Drew Armstrong, Joe Long, and Ashley Newman all tossing their names into the hat.
