Another Weekend, Another Victory for Riley Hickman

Cleveland, Tennessee (04/04/16) – Riley Hickman stayed red-hot to start the 2016 season by claiming his fourth victory of the young season on Saturday night. The Cleveland, Tennessee driver topped the United Crate Racing Association (UCRA) action at Smoky Mountain Speedway in the Rick Hixson Motorsports #R1 Mastersbilt.

Competing in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned event, Riley Hickman opened his weekend at Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) on Friday night. With 34 entries on hand Hickman transferred into the B-Main after placing 6th in his heat. Scoring a 3rd place finish in his consolation event, Hickman earned the 21st position for the $10,000-to-win, A-Main. Falling two positions, Riley Hickman retired a 21st place outing in the 50-lap affair.

The following night brought Hickman to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee), where he was competing in both the Super and Crate Late Model divisions. Battling in a field of thirty-four ULTIMATE Super Late Model entries, Riley earned the 7th place starting spot for the $5,000-to-win, A-Main via his performance in preliminary action. He would slip backwards in the feature to a 17th place finish.

He would fare much better in UCRA Crate Late Model competition. Riley timed in fastest in a field of twenty-five entries. Cruising to a heat race victory, Hickman earned the pole position for the A-Main. Reeling in his sixth win of the season, Riley dominated the feature event in the Rick Hixson-owned, #R1 Mastersbilt. He was trailed by Jenson Ford, Jake Teague, Forrest Trent, and Cory Hedgecock across the finish line. Collecting his third Crate win of the season and fourth win overall, Riley Hickman was awarded a $2,500 payday for his United Crate Racing Alliance (UCRA) sanctioned win.

“Our weekend in the Super Late Model definitely wasn’t what we would’ve liked, but our Crate Late Model entry was really good,” declared Hickman. “I have to thank Rick (Hixson) for providing us a really good ride, while we wait for our new car to be finished.”
