COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Set to Open 2014 this Weekend


Beebe, Arkansas (04/01/14) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil is set to open their 2014 campaign this weekend, April 5th-6th, with a pair of co-sanctioned, $10,000-to-win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) events in Louisiana and Oklahoma.

Trumann, Arkansas' competitor, Kyle Beard, who claimed his first series title in 2013 will lead the charge this weekend for the CCSDS presented by Lucas Oil competitors.  Other drivers expected to be in attendance this weekend to begin their pursuit of the 2014 crown include 2013 Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year, Ashley Newman, plus Chandler Petty, Clay Fisher, Tommy Surrett, Lynn Beach, Brandon Smith, Joseph Long, Keith Craft, and more.

A talented field of new competitors are also setting their sights on the 2014 Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year competition for the tour including Kody Mea, Gavin Landers, David Payne, and Jake Davis.
The events this weekend will award show-up points to the CCSDS presented by Lucas Oil competitors as well as incentive bonuses.  Five bonus points are offered to any driver that races into the feature and finishes in the top 20.  Ten points will be awarded for a top 15, fifteen points for a top 10, and twenty points for a top five finish.  A maximum of 20 points can be accumulated by any series driver.

The event will mark the fifth event of the 2014 season for the LOLMDS competitors, and they will be led into battle by current point leader, Don O'Neal from Martinsville, Indiana).  Other drivers expected to be in action include Earl Pearson Jr., Steve Francis, Eddie Carrier Jr., John Blankenship, Ray Cook, Jimmy Owens, Scott Bloomquist, Jared Landers, Brian Shirley, Jason Hughes, Randy Weaver, Dennis Erb Jr., and more.

A strong contingent of national and regional competitors are expected to enter at least one of the events including Timothy Culp, Billy Moyer, Billy Moyer Jr., Wendell Wallace, Ray Moore, Robert Baker, Jack Sullivan, Anthony Burroughs, Zack McMillan, Jeff Chanler, and more.

The CCSDS presented by Lucas Oil warriors will embark on their 2014 season this weekend, April 5th and 6th, as the tour co-sanctions a pair of events for the first time ever with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS).  On Saturday, April 5th Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) will host a $10,000-to-win/$700-to-start show, while Sunday April 6th will see the CCSDS presented by Lucas Oil being a part of an event for the first time ever at Outlaw Motor Speedway (Muskogee, Oklahoma) as another $10,000-to-win/$700-to-start slate is held.  For more information on the weekend's please visit please visit www.COMPDirt.com and www.LucasDirt.com .
