COMP Cams Returns as Title Sponsor of Engine Builders Challenge Program

WAYCROSS, GA (March 12, 2014) - Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are pleased to announce that COMP Cams will return as the title sponsor of the COMP Cams Engine Builders Challenge Program. COMP Cams and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series have partnered together to create a points competition among engine builders that compete within the series in 2014. This program will reward engine builders across the country through product awards from COMP Cams and multiple engine component companies.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Series Dirt Series continues to support open competition engines as the choice for the series engine rules platform. The LOLMDS is the premier super late model dirt division in the country and the open engine rules of these cars provide fans the most exciting and entertaining form of motorsports. Participating engine builders will earn points at each event and the engine builder that earns the most points will be crowned the COMP Cams Engine Builder of the Year at the awards banquet. Several companies are offering product awards to any engine builder based on finishing positions at each series event.

The Engine Builders Challenge, will award $1500 cash and a $500 product to the engine builder that earns the most COMP Cams points during the season on the series. The 2nd place engine builder in COMP Cams points will win a $750 product award from COMP Cams. Several companies are offering product awards to any engine builder based on finishing positions at each series event. Companies contributing to the program include COMP Cams, Edelbrock, CV Products, Dyers Rods, Brodix, Total Seal, Hedman Hedders and Roush Yates Performance Parts. Participating engine builders in the competition include Clements Race Engines, Cornett Race Engines, Jay Dickens Race Engines, Pro Power Race Engines, Grover Race Engines, Kuntz Race Engines and Vic Hill Race Engines.
